To be fair, the problem is not ESPN+ in this case but Danish TV3 Sport and 3+ that right now are facing a regular Facebook shitstorm due to the unusual technical difficulties..
As far as highlights go, pretty sweet. With those types of highlights at professional level pretty crazy he didn’t make U-20 team.
To be honest, I'm hoping he makes the gold cup squad. He's better than any wingers on that extended roster outside of Pulisic.
FCN are fielding the youngest top-flight team in all of Europe and so as you perhaps noticed in the highlights above, they may be skilled and pretty much all very good at passing the ball, but far from as efficient and cynical as a more experienced team would be and so, as it's also noticeable in the highlights, Amon would have made plenty more assists if he was playing for a much more highly experienced Danish team (like FC København, FC Midtjylland or Brøndby)
In a season where to the non observant follower it seems like he hardly even played. And yes, let's kill the dribble, fast, 1v1 narrative now. The kid sees the game.
FCN have released their 2018 accounts, which show that their Net Revenue has dropped from just around $21 million in 2017 to around $19 million in 2018, while their profit went from $802k in 2017 to $1.35 million in 2018... in 2016 their Net revenue was $23.5 million and they made a $3.6 million profit.
Starts in friendly: Vi spiller træningslejrens anden testkamp kl. 15.00 mod et forstærket Young Utrecht. Vi forsøger os med en liveupdate herinde igen, og starter med vores lineup: Bertrams - Villadsen, Maxwell, Tranberg, Gudmann - Diomande, Abu Francis, Damsgaard - Amon, Rotmann, Sadiq #fcndk— FC Nordsjælland 🐯 (@FCNordsjaelland) July 3, 2019 Gets an assist: MÅL! FCN igen. Et kort hjørnespark til Amon, der driblede ind mod feltet og fandt Sadiq foran mål med en skarp aflevering. Ghaneseren lagde iskoldt bolden op til sig selv og hamrede den ind bag en chanceløs keeper. #FCUFCN 0-2 #fcndk— FC Nordsjælland 🐯 (@FCNordsjaelland) July 3, 2019 Goal! FCN again. A short corner kick to Amon that dribbped in towards the field and found Sadiq in front of the goal with a sharp pass. The Ghaneren lay down the ball to himself and hammered it behind a chancelous keeper. #FCUFCN 0-2 #fcndk Ca. en halv time spillet. #FCUFCN 0-2 #fcndk— FC Nordsjælland 🐯 (@FCNordsjaelland) July 3, 2019 About half an hour played. We've been a heavy-duty match. More good chances are created. In particular, Amon and Sadiq have had several good endings. Most recently Sadiq, who got his attempt rescued. He was otherwise well off after a beautiful ball from Tranberg. #FCUFCN 0-2 #fcndk
Out at the half.
Transfer News No news about an Amon move as of yet, but I feel the need to make a comment on what is going on at the club in this summer transfer window in general ... as you have been able to read in the Sabbi at Hobro thread, then the highly regarded FC Nordsjælland Director of Sport Carsten V. Jensen suddenly and quite unexpectedly quite his job a few days ago and moved to league rivals Brøndby. Shortly before this happened, FCN had sold their U-21 NT left-back/midfielder Mads Valentin (also known as Mads "Mini" Pedersen) to Augsburg for €1 million, just as they had sold their Croatian NT right back to FC københavn for around $1 million ... and according to EB Sport, Sampdoria have also made a €5 million bid on their Danish U-21 NT right winger Andreas Skov Olsen... otherwise they may also lose their Danish U-21 NT centre back Victor Nelsson who is on the shopping list at FC København, now that they are about to sell their Slovakian CB Denis Vavro to Lazio in a deal worth up to €12.5 million ($14.1 m). So in other words, FCN have just lost their Director of Sport and are being stripped of several of their very best players, which will make it much less likely that they are also going to sell Amon, simply because they need to keep enough experienced talent if they are to be able to survive in a Superliga that will be cut from 14 to 12 teams this season, with 3 relegation spots and no relegation play-off's.
Just adding to the above, that Nordsjællands Danish U-21 NT centre back Victor Nelsson has now moved to FC København in a transfer worth up to $4 million, which is the biggest transfer ever between two Danish clubs, (the last record being set only 4 days ago when FCK signed the Danish U-21 NT midfielder Jens Stage from AGF in a deal worth up to $3.8 million).
According to both Calciomercato Bologna and Sky Sport Italia, then it's now a done deal that FCN's Danish U-21 NT right winger Andreas Skov Olsen will move to Bologna if he pass his medical on Monday .. the transfer fee is €5 million ($5.6m)
Nordsjaelland are currently playing the first game of the 2019 - 2020 Danish Superliga season. Amon is not in the squad. During 2018 - 2019, he played in 25 games (15 starts - 1,306 minutes) and registered 4 goals and 2 assists. He also scored two additional goals in non-league competitive play: one in 61 minutes (1 start) in the Danish Cup and one in a 32 minute substitute appearance in UEFA Europa League qualifying.
Sounds like Amon is headed out the door. There must be something brewing with him not in the 18 to start the season. Now where’s he headed is the question.......
Andreas Skov Olsen was able to pass his medical, but was in need of more time to talk about his future with family and friends before moving abroad, but has now agreed to sign with Bologna ... Andreas Skov is among the 80 "wonderkids" nominated for the European '2019 Golden Boy award' : https://www.football.london/premier-league/80-wonderkids-nominated-2019-golden-16600825
There are no transfer rumors about Amon at the moment. so it's more likely that he is injured again ...
Just a small transfer update .... Players FCN have sold in this transfer window so far : U-21 NT right winger, Andreas Skov Olsen --> Bologna €6 million (according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.) U-21 NT centre back Victor Nelsson --> FC København €3.6 million U-16 NT right winger, Christian Rasmussen --> Ajax Amsterdam U-17 €3 million Croatian NT right back, Karlo Bartolec --> FC København €2.68 million U-21 NT left-back/midfielder Mads Valentin --> Augsburg €800k Player transfers in all : €16.08 million ($18 million) https://www.transfermarkt.com/fc-nordsjaelland/alletransfers/verein/2778 https://www.transfermarkt.com/fc-nordsjaelland-jugend/transfers/verein/52882
Just adding to the above, to make it more clear how FCN actually run their business, then they spend around $5.6 million a year on their youth development (U-17 to U-19 league teams) and the Academy in Denmark + their Right to Dream Academy in Ghana, which is also why you hardly ever see them actually spending $$ on buying players. And if you then also consider that they are a very small town team (from Farum that has a population of just around 19,000 people) with not that many big sponsors or that big a fan support and the cost of their Superliga team (and women soccer team) then they need to sell around $9 million worth of players on average every year just to break even.
I suppose the loss of talent was a bit too much for FCN this summer, because most unusually they have signed the highly experienced 30-yo centre back Kian Hansen from FC Midtjylland, spending no less than $1 million on this transfer, which is also the biggest transfer fee they have ever paid. https://www.transfermarkt.com/kian-hansen/detaillierteleistungsdaten/spieler/91469
Signing Kian Hansen is quite a scoop btw, even though $1 million could seem much for a 30-yo centre back ... but actually he is too good for the Danish league and was a regular starter for Nantes in the French league (and Europa League) the year he spend there before returning home due to some huge family issues and homesickness. He is surely a top-5 league centre back, but with some private issues that makes him want to stay in Denmark and so being affordable for a club like FCN .. and he will add loads of experience to a young inexperienced team like FCN.
