Whoops, that's embarrassing. But, that's good. Celta seems the most keen on Danish league players so hopefully our boy ends up in La Liga.
Yup. Chill personalities but a clear drive to succeed at the highest levels. There’s a quiet arrogance - the good kind - amongst the group that they won’t rest on their laurels. They don’t want to be comfortable. They want to test themselves.
True but still they are just so damn likeable. Mckennie has an infectious laugh and personality, Weah too, the top half of Amons face almost fell off in that video because of how big that smile was. I mean jeez what is there not to like? Now they could end up sucking or underachieving but I don’t think so.
Not really. Pulisic is already blamed for not playing for NT. Injury or no injury he must play in those super important games for that famous coach. Otherwise he is a traitor preparing to switch to Cambodia.
their personalities are the product of a previous generation who struggled to insure they could be chill
@bshredder We need a little piece on the background/story of this young man for the next friendlies please. We will all pay you in the form of the ever so valuable reps.
Also there's the social media factor. Even in the relatively recent past there wasn't the same opportunity for fans to get the intimate look at moments like Amon's reaction to his first call-up. I think we can sometimes mistake this access for a sign that current young guys are more "likeable" than earlier generations were at the same age. I'm sure a young Brek Shea or someone was equally floored at his early accomplishments.
Perhaps. Convey was never much for fans, EJ sometimes got into verbal fights with fans, Bradley growled at people and came off as angry in the media. Will say Gooch was a super cool dude. Donovan was pretty fan friendly - though perhaps he had to be as the face of the USMNT and a big Nike guy.
Don't be so sure. Peru gave France all they could handle in their 1-0 loss, possession was almost 50-50. If you think we are going to control the midfield against Peru, you better think twice.
I do not know how much the media have access to players and to what is going on in locker rooms in the US ?, but in Europe it's more than unusual at this level ... in that respect I think the Danish Superliga is probably pretty unique ...
It's on the other extreme in the US. Atlanta United players have mentioned how in their first games here, they came out of the showers after the games naked to media members all over the locker room waiting to interview them and it shocked them. But yes it's really cool to have that kind of access and see that moment for Amon. I'm a grown @$$ man (shoutout to EJ) but that was pretty cute. Kid has a million dollar smile.
