1x0, Neymar. Nice ball by Tardelli, who has been making the most of his opportunities.

How many goals did we miss from the left side of goal. Neymar, coutino, robinho. All 3 should have been goals

With these 4 goals Neymar reaches 40 goals in 58 games for the Selecao. I criticize his finishing quite a bit, but those are pretty impressive numbers.

Mario looked lost in the limited min he got. Elias hasnt impressed either.

He could had so many more if his finishing was better. He missed 2 in the arg game , he could have score another one today too

That is impressive. His finishing seem to have improved this season though.

On the flip side, Coutinho had a good cameo. The defense also continues to make Jefferson look great.

And that makes him 5th all-time.

    1. Pelé, 77 goals/92 matches
    2. Ronaldo, 62 goals/98 matches
    3. Romário, 55 goals/70 matches
    4. Zico, 48 goals/71 matches

    5. Neymar, 40 goals/58 matches
    6. Bebeto, 39 goals/75 matches

I think that it is worth stating that Neymar is the one true standout we have up front in an era where we no longer have Romário, Ronaldo, Rivaldo-level forwards. He looks to be well on pace to unseat Ronaldo at least.

He does benefit from the increased amount of games the NTs play nowadays. He is 22 and he already has 58 caps. More than half of Pele's and almost Romario's cap tally. Having said that, his gpg ratio is pretty good.

He did have one or two assists but Don't think he looked better than oscar in the game. 2nd half was misleading because both teams were attacking more leaving space on the back line. IMHO Coutinho is not NT material from what I have seen at liverpool. He has been benched this year. We need to look past him to find a better replacement or backup for oscar

True. There was no Confederations Cup back when Zico & Pelé played, and with no other real standout forward/striker, the burden will be on him for now. Perhaps we'll see an even younger front man emerge sometime soon; the Olympic team did fairly well against Bolivia, but I don't know any of the starting forwards on that lineup to see whether any could be a junior partner to Neymar in the run-up to 2018 and 2022.

The pressure will be on Neymar come the 2015 Copa América.

I felt Oscar did a good job dropping deep and helping link the defense and attack. Also, it seemed that the front 4 had no fixed position.

There seemed to be a tactical switch with forward playing further back to bring the ball forward. Need to see how this works against stronger sides. Yes Oscar was impressive in his work rate, may be he need to play the offensive mid fielder in place of elias.

Btw what was the point of starting neymar in this game.

Impressive start by dunga not conceding after 4 games against though opponents

Time to see what Neymar does in the Eliminatorias. All of those caps and none in qualifying yet.

He’ll most certainly play against Turkey and Austria next month, and in the early 2015 friendlies running up to the 2015 Copa América. It’ll be redemption for him, as he didn’t lead us to the caneco in Argentina in 2011. It’ll also be a preview of what he’ll face when visiting other CONMEBOL countries. They won’t go easy on him in Chile and they won’t go easy on him in their own stadiums.

Dunga is more experience now. Also, he is building the team on the basis of a strong defense. Both FB are balance types. Neither are bombarding forward with reckless abandon. We still have a lot of work to do though. Midfield is still a problematic area in particular Elias spot.

Sousa looked good. Has good skill and positioning sense like gustavo. I think he should get a run
