He's a 1992 with FC Magdeburg's U19s. Mitte von links: Betreuer Bodo Meyer, Philipp Blume, Florian Dethlefsen, Rico Balzer, Amro Tarek Abdil Aziz, Malcom Ntambwe, Tom Freisleben, Co-Trainer Mario Winkler, Trainer Martin Hoffmann http://1.fc-magdeburg.de/jugend/mannschaften/U19_jugend.html Transfermarkt says he's Egyptian/American. Born in Egypt and has lived most/all of his pre-Germany life there, I think: http://www.egyptianplayers.com/AbdRaboh/articles-Amro.htm So I'm not sure where the American connection comes from. Will try to find out.
Snip: Hannover 96 have shown interest in Amro following their game against Magdeburg, and the player should train with their team in January after the winter break in Germany. http://www.egyptianplayers.com/AbdRaboh/articles-Amro1.htm EDIT: Amro tells me that he was in fact born in California, where he lived for a few years while his dad was a student. He doesn't have any other connections to the U.S., or relatives here. But it sounds like he wouldn't be averse to a call from U.S. Soccer. One more for Rongen?
From that link: "I was born in Asyut, and started football in Asyut Cement club at the age of 7. I had been trained for long time by a German youth-coach, who taught me a lot" Amro revealed to EP. "At the age of 17, I moved to ENPPI, but after one season, I decided that I need to play in Europe, particularly Germany" Amro added. "Last May, I managed to 1.FC Magdeburg on trial. I stayed for 15 days and impressed the club to offer me a contract" ----------------------------------------------------------------- Weird.
Abdel-Aziz insists that the linked report is incorrect and that he was born in California. I can't explain it, but that's how it is.
Just to close the book on this perhaps, the person who wrote the article above contacted me to say it was wrong. He was definitely born in the States.
lol. It was just the carry over reaction from the same mods not changing the Yelldell thread to him being at Leverkusen.
Assist vs. Wilhelmshaven on 4/24: http://www.transfermarkt.com/en/sv-wilhelmshaven-vfl-wolfsburg-ii/index/spielbericht_2237344.html
It has been reported that he signed a year extension with Wolfsburg recently. Though the guy quoted there as his agent seem to be embellishing certain elements of the story. There is someone employed working for the USA Olympic team at the moment? And that person is scouting someone who is no longer age eligible for any US youth national teams?
Various news reports seem to have him at Hadjuk Split, though it looks like he's still a trialist there. Here is one clip: http://www.24sata.hr/nogomet/hajduk-prvo-izbacio-turnovo-sad-im-zeli-uzeti-napadaca-326714
Transfermarkt says he's now at El Gouna FC in Egypt's top division. I'm incapable of reading the club's web site.
Starting regularly at El Gouna. Respectable level for a 21yo. @bungadiri - Parting for the Red Sea: Amro Tarek Abdel-Aziz joins El Gouna
