In addition to Bradley, and the managers mentioned in this article, I'd like to add a few other names that have been overlooked in the history of Americans coaching abroad: http://www.mlssoccer.com/sideline/n...-one-5-other-american-coaches-europe-sideline 1) Felix Magath. Not sure if/when he obtained US citizenship, but he was the son of US serviceman, and therefore eligible for citizenship. 2) Davis Regis - Has coached in lower levels of Belgium. 3) Martin Vasquez was an assistant coach at Bayern. Any others out there? In Europe, Asia or South America? What about Australia?
If technical directors count, then add Earnie Stewart (who has filled that role for NAC Breda and AZ Alkmaar) to the list. Alketas Panagoulias, who coached Greece at the 1994 World Cup, was a US citizen. Dan Gaspar, born in Connecticut, has been a goalkeeper coach all over Europe. Omid Namazi is currently an assistant coach for Iran. Afshin Ghotbi, who lived in the US for two decades beginning at age 13 and became a naturalized citizen, is now manager of Shimizu S-Pulse after stints as head coach of Iran and assistant coach of South Korea. (He has also been an assistant coach for the USMNT in 1997-98 and the LA Galaxy in 2004-05.) Jack Stefanowski, a New Yorker who previously served as head coach for Puerto Rico and goalkeeper coach for the Puerto Rico Islanders, is now head coach of the Nepal national team. Per Henrickson, from Maine, coached the Bhutan national team in 2003.
I was referring to Ziggy Korytoski, who is (still?) coaching Deportivo Coatepeque in Guatemala. http://prosoccertalk.nbcsports.com/...ytoski-takes-over-top-flight-guatemalan-club/
Alketas Panagoulias is a good find, I forgot about him. That means he was the first US Citizen to coach another country at the World Cup (even if Bradley's Egypt had qualified, he would have been the second).
Not sure, but he lived continuously in the US from the mid-1950s until 1972, and again from 1983 until his death. Even in his stints managing Greek clubs in the 80s and 90s, he lived in the US during the offseasons.
Steve Dooley coached two sides (Borussia Neunkirchen, Pirmasens), Aachen's reserve side, and Kaiserslautern's U-19 side as well as most recently being the Sport Director for Homburg. I think he is with the Dooley Academy now.

Anthony Hudson (born in Seattle) is head coach of Bahrain. John Coughlin (born in New York) is head coach of Scottish 4th division side East Stirlingshire FC (in his third year). They finished last in the entire Scottish Football League the last two years (no relegation), but seem to be doing better this year.
Hudson's Bahrain team took third place in the West Asian Football Federation Championship last month despite the only goal they scored in the tournament being an own goal (which was also the only goal they allowed). In their group with Iraq and Oman, all three games finished scoreless and they advanced after winning a drawing of lots. The only goal in their semifinal against Jordan was an own goal, and they defeated Kuwait on penalties following another 0-0 draw. In what must be one of the most boring tournaments in history, 6 of the 13 matches finished goalless (with a 7th goalless after 90 minutes before ending 3-0), only 2 matches featured goals by both teams, and 5 of the 9 teams involved failed to score.
American-born Steve Potts is the manger for West Ham United's U18 squad after managing the U16s previously. http://www.whufc.com/articles/20140127/potts-hails-u18s-display_2236884_3640234
American Samoan Tunoa Lui coached the Samoa national team in 2011. He was also the coach of the American Samoa national team in 2001 when it suffered the 31-0 record loss to Australia.
Thomas Dooley has been handed the Phillipines job.... http://www.the-afc.com/en/afc-chall...oley-to-lead-azkals-at-afc-challenge-cup.html
http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brent_Goulet Former US International, coached SV Elversberg for 4 seasons in Germany. I always saw him as a pioneer. Wonder what he's up to now.
There were rumors of him coaching Scotland. Not sure how much was actual interest and how much was Bruce angling for the job. It was between his RBNY and LAG stints in 2007. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...er-U-S-A-coach-Arenas-pitch-Scotland-job.html
David Regis is currently coaching for the second division in Luxembourg for FC Monnerich (Mondercange in english). It still counts, no? http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/FC_Monnerich
Let me add Jimmy Hartwig as another American (technically) who coached in the lower levels of Germany in 1989 and 1990. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jimmy_Hartwig
