He came off the bench today in the 81st minute and got a yellow card in the 90. Nantes won 2-1 and has been unbeaten in 8 straight.
Bedoya has actually played. If he flipped off some fans in that getup he might become legend, actually. On to more serious matters, I sort of expected Bedoya to be more productive in the goals department based on how he finished last season. It's great when your team is doing well, it's not so great when you aren't apart of it. I think he might need to show suitors something with Nantes between now and January or something mediocre might occur like a transfer to a Championship side.
Multiple sources: Alejandro Bedoya suitors include: #NYCFC, Bordeaux, Millonarios in Colombia. Other French/German clubs interested as well— MLS Transfers (@MLSTransfers) November 19, 2014 I'm surprised how little attention this guy gets around here. Arguably our most successful attacking YA abroad right now.
I think his stats are like: Started 7 of 13 (11 healthy) Appeared 10 of 13 (11 healthy) Missed 2 of 13 with thigh injury Before the injury it was 8 apps, 7 starts in 9 games. So while the above is technically true, before his injury he was pretty much a regular starter.
Can't help but cheer for the guy. Certainly doesn't leave anything out there as far as effort goes. Hope he lands somewhere positive.
He hasn't scored or assisted this season and this season's squad is weaker than last if I'm right. Maybe still hungover from the WC. Dude is very under-rated. I remember when he nearly.made the cut dor the 2010 WC. At the time he was just a bit player at a Swedish club but he never gave up. RESPECT
being a pro in colombia would be awesome. he's looked good since the WC for the nats, maybe the only world cup player who has. doesn't have club have a transfer ban, though? would the be willing to let him leave?
Yes. Bordeaux used to be the top club in France and is still a very large club. Would be a great move.
Bringing up the next question - is Bedoya really best suited to play as an attacker? Obviously Klinsmann has debated this internally, playing him in central midfield and even as a fullback. Personally I think Bedoya's intelligence, work rate and good technique could serve him well in a #8 role.
Ya I would love to see a regular in copa libertadores!! The atmosphere is CRAZY. But Bedoya should try to reach the highest level he can in Europe first. Bourdeaux would probably be his plateau. I think he could play in a good Europa league team
Ever since the news came out that he wouldn't be renewing his contract, he's played less. Maybe thats not the reason for it, but it wouldn't shock me if it was.
Bordeaux has had a nice turnaround this season after a few mediocre seasons since Blanc, Obertan, Gouffran and that contingent left.
