He's definitely improved over the past year or 2. Deserves a spot in Brazil. He showed he was up to the level in France.
For me more Jones or Johnson but Bedoya was damn good. I wonder if he'll start Sunday or Zusi or maybe both?
Ale was grabbing at the back of his knee. He may have taken a knock. He was a real man, though. He stuck it out for at least 10 minutes, after I first saw him holding the back of his knee, before he was subbed out. That last defensive run, back to the corner to cover - at a full sprint! - took what ever was left out of his leg. I hope it's not serious. Bedoya, Jones, Cameron, Dempsey, and Beckerman were all heroes to me!
He along with Jones and Besler were the only guys who could hang with Ghana athletically. Bedoya showed alot of heart.
He was fantastic with his defensive containment and using his speed to his advantage. He made the right runs and was full of energy in general. I wish he could hit a better FK/Corner but aside from that he was good.
WhoScored has him at a fairly decent 6.8. Not as good as Jones's 7.9, close to Beckerman's 7.0, much better than Bradley's 6.2.
I agree with that score. I wish he could provide a little more in attack. He had a great, composed through ball that lead to a chance. We need more of that. However, he had the ill-advised long distance bomb that(for him) is more off-target than on AND he continues to shoot from that spot. His defensive work was EXCELLENT.
Fabian Johnson is in that group as well, no doubt. I'd argue Cameron is a better overall athlete than Besler, had a better game too.
Yeah. Once the roster was picked, I assumed that Zusi and Bedoya would both be our starting wingers, with Zusi being our dedicated set piece taker. But with Zusi not starting, someone has to fill that role. Even though he is a danger to score on set pieces, I think Bradley could probably do a better job than Bedoya.
I was quite surprised to see Bedoya take the set pieces to be honest. It's not what he does best while he is also surprisingly efficient in the aerial department. Overall good game from him, even if I'd like to see him being more of an offensive threat than he was yesterday.
New interview at Got Soccer: http://blogs.gotsoccer.com/?p=12123 The attack minded midfielder wasn’t looking to make excuses, but he did tell GotSoccer, “that fans expectations of me are a little bit flawed, I think, because I play out wide they were expecting me to be a winger, and get by with my speed or with step-overs, but that’s not my game.”
Yeah Ale has always been a good winger in terms of work rate and defense..but as for attacking I think he's best centrally at the 10
I think one Mr. Bedoya is reading him some BigSoccer. We still luv ya Ale! Show us that you can be our number 10 going forward at Nantes. Make that position yours through being the indisputable #10 at your club. We don't have a plethora of #10's right now, so if you can get it done for Nantes, we'd love to see you inherit that jersey from Landon.

And Nantes cannot bring in new players due to a transfer ban. Golden opportunity for him to play a lot this year and maybe win a bigger move next summer.
