Van Basten was a great player but he has been away from Milan for 15 years. The last time he played for Milan, they had a defensive backline in Tassotti, Maldini, Baresi, Costacurta, (Galli) as well as 2 star midfielders in Donadoni and Albertini to hold down the fort. They had a team that is nowhere near anything close to what it is today and things have changed dramatically since (1994-1995) then.
