Twellman mentioned it last night, and I have talked about it before, but an All-Star game between Liga MX & MLS sounds like a good idea for this event. Euro teams play half paced and throw on big names just for show. An All-Star game between leagues would add a bit more intrigue, especially since form wouldn't really be an issue.

Would be next to impossible to pull since you'd have to make the entire mexican league agree to release players in season just for a friendly.

Could be interesting but a pipe dream

plus two teams of a collection of players with little playing time together could make for some craptastic game

    Heck no!

    friendlies? no thanks

speaking of the MLS "stars" lol,...... Donovan is retiring

overrated? yes, but then again yanks overrate all their players.

A starter on an all time Concacaf starting 11? definitely not!

but he´s still the best yank and thats something!

MX Players have better things to do than waste their time in a friendly that does not help their club prepare for the season in the slightest. They play for a more important league title, there's no room for wasted time and energy.

Why would it be next to impossible?

Chivas just played a series of friendlies in the US, América played Ateltico and Leon will be playing Barca. I could see them putting a team together for the league.

Like I mentioned you would have to make the entire league agree to stop league play for a friendly. I'm sure teams will not be to eager to loan players and run the risk of injury just for a friendly.

It works for euro teams because they are already here for pre season tournaments. They've had all star games against Mexican teams but putting together a Mexican all star team together is a different thing and would present different problems

i don't think so, calendar for both leagues is the main reason.

It would be fun to see, but I voted no for the same reasons others are giving. There's no benefit to anyone except the federations who might make a bit of money from it.

"Kind of", but that leaves out a lot of top players from both leagues like Henry, Suazo, Cube and Darwin.

I doubt this will ever happen, Euro clubs want to expand their brand here, Mex clubs already have a bigger footprint here than the MML, so it's pointless for them.

Let BM get their revenge next year, then maybe BVB the next to 1-up BM in how much they can pound the MML.

    lol...

Do you understand the difference between a match between NTs and a match between leagues? The latter probably wouldn't even be fun to watch if you want an even game.

I think the club rivalries in Mexico are too big for this happen. I mean with the Mexican team, we have the concept that we're all Mexican and it's representing our country, so it's ok to cheer for the team. But support a team representing the Mexican league? I dk about that. Cant't see a Tigre fan cheering on Suazo or vice versa.
