I want Musonda to play but honestly incorporating youth is so tricky to do. We're in a competitive league and win now mode. Unless we were dominating like Bayern tend to do in their respective league.
IMO, with Musonda there would be almost zero risk bringing him on as a sub for Willian/Pedro/Hazard if we're in the 3-4-3 in virtually any game. Little defensive risk, clearly hungry player - not sure why it doesn't happen regularly as Pedro and Willian have been pretty inconsistent this season. It's the only position we've got where the risk of playing youth is quite small
Conte with pretty encouraging words regarding Charly. I don't get a bad feeling from any of it. The kid just seems anxious to play and in all honesty I don't blame him. Willian is spotty, at best, and pushing 30. Pedro has done a great job but again... he's 30, not getting any younger. Musonda looked sensational albeit against lowly opposition. I find it hard to believe he won't be seeing some serious time soon.
That's all that I want to see. He looked really against Forest playing with really good players around. No reason he can't do that this weekend too.
Mason Mount just scored for Vitesse against PSV with Van Ginkel in that side. Dabo and Miazga are both starting again and have really solidified their spots in the squad. Charlie Colkett seems to have fallen out of favor as he hardly plays. Baker must be hurt for Boro as he wasn't involved in the match day squad. Tammy started again for the Swans. Izzy Brown is on the bench today for BHA. RLC went the full 90 for Palace who rescued a point against the Hammers. He was out wide in a 442 on the right. Will be curious how he's used going forward by Hodgson. He was their best player for a month and a half. Hoping he and Zaha can form a good understanding. Kasey Palmer is hurt I believe and wasn't involved in the match day squad for Huddersfield. Boga is on the bench for Birmingham in their derby against Villa captained by JT. He's been decent. Surprised he's on the bench. Kalas started again for Fulham and he's pushing for a permanent move there. He's been pretty good for the Cottagers. Piazon is still out injured. He's also looking for a permanent move there.
Ola Aina and Michael Hector started again for a bad Hull side. Hector scored in a loss to Forest who have former Blues Liam Bridcutt and Michael Mancienne. Tomori was on the bench for Hull.
The England U17 side beat Spain in the U17 World Cup yesterday. There were 5 Chelsea players in that squad, George McEacheran, Panzo, Guehi, Gallagher, and Hudson-Odoi. This is the second WC an English youth team has won in the last two years. I'd like to think a lot of that has to do with our youth setup being as good as it is.
RCL got a couple chances and didn't make the most of them. He's also not the best fit for Conte. Tammy is best staying away and developing. He doesn't hold the ball up well enough for Conte and would be a super sub but we have Michy doing that role right now.
Completely disagree. RLC is perfect for our system. He lacks a b2b and that is exactly what he is. Bakayoko is unfinished, RLC is familiar with the system. Conte played as a 10 and as a winger. Those aren't his positions.
He didn't get time as b2b I'll give you that but he's not as good as Bako. Bako has his problems but those problems are exposed much more being paired next to cesc. He's looked far better next to Kante and the brief time with DD.
