This forum is and always has been about Americans abroad, regardless of their status with respect to the USMNT.

I, for one, really appreciate the updates @BostonRed .

    He should've stayed with FCD.

I didn't realize there was a group stage for Copa MX. I was thinking how did a cup match end in a draw.

One good thing about Copa MX (at least for younger players) is that there are a lot of playing opportunities. They play both a fall and spring version as well.

Started and scored a late stoppage time winner in Zacatepec's 1-0 win over Murciélagos today.

Presumably he'll be filing a one-time switch, as he had been provisionally cap-tied to the US at U17 level. Honestly not much of a loss, IMO.

Mexico's U21 team is the group that will become the U23 team that enters Olympic qualification in late 2019 / early 2020. They don't have any official games for years, so it would be unwise to file an unnecessary one-time switch just now.

Tri will try to 'steal' Alejandro Zendejas from the United States

Denis Te Kloese, director of national teams, for now will not ask FIFA to change the Federation of the player. The movement will handle it in case it fills the eye of Chima Ruiz ahead of next year's Central American Games in Barranquilla, Colombia.

"We will not hurt him in changing the Federation if after some calls somebody wins the place, he has to prove his level and in case the coaching staff asks for it we will begin to do the proceedings before FIFA," Te Kloese told Meditiempo .

The change of Federation would not mean much problem for Mexico, because although it already played with the United States, the fact that the player already had Mexican nationality makes the process easier.

This change must be before Zendejas turns 21
