http://www.dailylobo.com/article/2018/01/01-29-former-lobo-signs-pro-contract “...University of New Mexico men’s soccer player Alex Vedamanikam has signed a pro contract with Eintracht Braunschweig of the Second Bundesliga in Germany, UNM announced today. Vedamanikam, a native of Albuquerque, had just completed his freshman season with the Lobos and will depart the team immediately...”.
Is Jeremy Fishbein still the coach? Went to grammar school with him for a few years in Swarthmore, PA. I'm sorry that's way off topic...won't do it again... or nearly never.
Salt Lake AZ product: http://rsla.ussoccerda.com/sam/teams/index.php?team=1655646&player=79960882 Transfermarkt has him beginning w/ the u19's. https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/alex-vedamanikam/profil/spieler/563722 Was called into a u18 camp in Jan 2016... that's the only involvement w/ the US setup that I can see... https://www.ussoccer.com/stories/20...es-first-camp-of-2016-with-pair-of-friendlies
New Mexico has players, but no pro option above PDL (the Sol). That organization has made noises about trying to go pro at some point. El Paso would be an option too, but that's pretty far from Albuquerque.
Alex started, went the full 90 mins as Braunschweig U19 were thumped again, this time 1 - 5 at home by Hannover U19 Obviously, Braunschweig U19 have some serious defensive problems
to add to the above, started the 2 matches 1st played 63 minutes in a 4-2 win, did not score or assist in any goals 2nd match played 81 minutes in a 5-1 trashing loss, did not score or assist the lone goal. currently seems to be at 0 goals and 0 assist in 4 games while playing 284 minutes. playing for a team that got trashed in 3 out of 4 of those games, will be a long season. The current Braunschweig U19 is in the relegation zone, 5 pts off the safe zone.
yeah nothing good to report another 67 minutes played and another trashing this time 4-0. Basically 80% of the games he's played his team got trashed hard.
chances at the main team seem extremely unlikely. EB have brought 10 youth players to the main team next season. -2 EB U19 players, Alex isn't one of them -3 EB II players -2 Wolfsburg U19 players -2 who are from 4th division teams -1 foreign player from the Norway League and seems to have an expiring Summer 2018 contract.
signed a 1 year contract to play at EB II. https://www.eintracht.com/aktuelles/neues/niemann-und-stramiello-zurueck-bei-u23/ EB II plays in OL/5th division.
looks like he has to find new club as EB II is being deregistered in Summer. #Dogan: "Es ist bitter, aber notwendig" - die U23 der #Löwen wird nach der Saison abgemeldet. ℹ️ https://t.co/QE6i7SOZtU #wirsindeintracht #immerblaugelb pic.twitter.com/HjpY601UcB— Eintracht BS (@EintrachtBSNews) March 20, 2019 also means that German-American 01-Elias Thomas will not have any II team in 2 years time when he's done with U19.
FC Alicante City lists him on its first team. https://www.alicantecityfc.com/teams/205585/player/alex-vedamikam-2442029 https://www.alicantecityfc.com/teams/205585/the-team Looks like there are more YAs on that squad.
