Interesting article about youth refugee soccer teams in suburban Atlanta and all of the crap they have to put up with from the locals. I mentioned it in this thread because it was written by Birmingham native Warren St. John.
It's really long (about eight lengthy pages that required a lot of scrollilng.) It'd take forever to cut & paste.
Funny---my dad e-mailed me a link to the same article this morning. McTide, I tried e-mailing you a different link to see if that will work for you. It was a long article, but it was worth every minute of it. Don't miss out on the multimedia bit as well.
UAB lost a recruit(Gabe Gala) to Toronto FC. I guess that is a good sign that your doing well in recruiting when one of your signees turns you down to go pro.
I want to send my compliments to the coaches, administrators, parents and players of the 94 ODP team. While at Mini-camp, my son was in a rather serious accident (that could have been much worse) and was rushed to Children's Hospital. The support and prayers that were given was incredible. He is at home and recovering. This ordeal brought home two points: life is precious and soccer people are wonderful people.

not a good day for players with ties to Alabama. Jerson Monteiro, Floyd Franks & Sandy Gbandi were all waived. They are available in the MLS waiver draft today but not likely to get drafted.
I am! I'll just be there for the Sunday games. Bringin' my dad and some other friends with me. I am really looking forward to it! Will you be standing with Sam's Army? My tickets wound up being the next section over, but I'm hoping I can scoot over somehow and join the fun.
