You beat me to it. I must say that both PKs were legitimate calls. There actually could have been another PK called. At any rate, Zips deserved the win. Irish were best side Zips have faced so far this year. And yet Zips dominated stretches of the match. Irish looked dangerous many times as well. Several future pros on ND roster. Quality victory! May I please have my RPI points now?
Had too much stuff going on to make it in person, but today's news made me completely forget to even stream it (along with the KRACK vulnerability). What a messed up week.

Caught the second half of the ND vs Akron game. ND looked completely gassed for a lot of the second half. Wide open holes in their defense, half efforts on tackles, too slow to connect passes. This game could have been much worse than 2-0 (although the second PK was right outside the box) as Akron was just running them ragged. Are we going to see a late season plunge by ND again? Congrats to Akron on the win, they are progressively looking better and better as the season goes on and will be a threat come tournament time.
Watched the game on ESPN3 yesterday. Agree with fknbuflobo (admission - my fellow Zip) that both PKs were deserved, the first a clear take-down by ND's goalie and the second the contact perhaps began outside the box, but the "takedown" was inside. My only thought was the "push-in-the-back" by the ND defender was not so hard that it would have normally brought down an attacker unless he were looking for the referee's call. That said, I believe it was kiwi Stuart Holthusen on that play who made the best of his chances vs the Irish, and deserved POG honors.
MOTM Stuart Holthusen put constant pressure on a good ND back line. When healthy, he is as good as any F in NCAA. How long before he gets New Zealand call-up?
MAC Tournament is hosted by team who wins the regular season. Right now that team is WMich, who have a field with NO LIGHTS. Weird results occur in Kalamazoo! The story of 2017 season in MAC soccer has yet to be told. Stay tuned.
Akron 2-1 Bowling Green OT Minutes after Zips scored, Akron native Chris Brennan (Copley HS) deserved and earned a straight red card, while already sitting on a yellow. Another Falcon player was ejected during the subsequent fracas. Down to 9 men, the Falcons wove through the lackluster Zips' defense and scored with 3 minutes left. Aaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! Zips scored 26 seconds into OT. The cops were out on the field, apparently keeping Coach Embick from assaulting the Referee. Very dramatic ending!

Pittsburgh 0-3 Akron Nick Hinds had a most unusual brace, scoring @ 1:43, leaving injured on the play. I mean he left only with the assistance of the team trainer. He did not return to the match until around 77:00, and scored Zips third goal. May I now have my RPI points, please?
West Virginia 0-4 Akron Mountaineers did not put up much of a fight. Senior Forward Stuart Holthusen with the hat trick. New Zealand, call him up! You are fairly bad anyway. Give the youngster a chance.
