  2. Well, for us it is obvious that it is about switching allience, but for Yanks a black swinging on a rope triggers the feeling from Billy Holliday's song "Strange fruits".

"I'm not trying only to win but also to provoke enthusiasm in people. I think the fans expect a team that has possession, it creates a lot of opportunities and of course, it scores a lot of goals. With the speed, we urge the very top teams early in the game. When we have the ball, the goal is to have good possession and build from the back, and when we lose the ball we have up the five second rule. Each player must make sure to have recovered the ball within five seconds after its loss immediately by pressing the opponent. Because an opponent who gets the ball is never in a good position to attack, players are often grouped around the ball. So we try to take advantage of it to retrieve the ball quickly. It is a concept set up by Guardiola in Barcelona. He had his three-second rule. Well, we're not Barcelona, so I decided to give my players two seconds more. I also try to apply the doordekken: if an opponent back in his own half, the last defender of my team should not be afraid also to go into the half of the field of the opponent." Peter Bosz
These are very attractive ideas. All Dutch football should convert to it . Harass the opponents in his own half of the field is a key to success.

Different sources/sites are reporting Ajax signed Bosz for 3 years, €500k to pay off his contract with Maccabi.
Will have to wait untill Maccabi plays the last match on 24th of may untill it becomes official.
Other sources report that it is just media speculation, but I can't see it not happening.

^^Bosz, if hired, will be sacked after 18 months and the Ajax Board will stumble on.

^^Since van Gaal left in 1997 there have been 13 Ajax managers. Only Koeman and de Boer have lasted past 18 months. The odds are not in favor of Bosz!! In particular, the supporters don't like him because of the Feyenoord connection.

It would be a shame. His vision of football is very appealing. He deserves to be given time to develop his ideas.
On the other hand , there is much to do in the mental and physical preparation of the players. This is where we experience many difficulties.

^^Why did Bosz leave Vitesse this past winter when he had them off to a decent start? When he was technical director at Feyenoord he was responsible for the debacle of singing over age players whose skills had deteriorated badly (Makaay, van Bronkhorst, de Cler, Hofland, and Landzaat). IMO, this does not inspire confidence. Ajax can, and should do better.

He is not my ideal choice. I would have preferred Van Gaal , the only one able to move the ass of our kids. Besides him : Roger Schmidt . I do not see him leaving Bayer for Ajax . Erik Ten Hag is very good, but he is not an option considered by the board .

^^Which is why the only candidate for me is Wim Jonk. Everyone else will fail.

Jonk would be the best choice, but I don't think Bergkamp wants to be his assistant.

Probably not but if you or anyone else can tell me what Bergkamp does for this team I would love to hear it. Every time I watched Ajax play Bergkamp just sat there stone faced. If he leaves it will be no big loss as I can't see any evidence that he brought any kind of attacking philosophy to the management staff.

Nobody knows what Bergkamp does. Even Bergkamp doesn't.

I doubt it's much of an issue with most fans, the supporters desperately want to see some attacking football again. 410 and the F-side have not really endeared themselves to the rest of the supporters in recent years.

I would like to see Jonk in some capacity at the club, but to my knowledge he has never coached a team, not even a youth squad. Asking him to take over the first team straight away is too much.

  18. I know...he's the secret force behing FdB......he stares the opponent into submission....He shouldnot have blinked at De Graafschap.

Overmars might move to Everton, things are starting to look better.

Looks like Viktor Fischer is getting ready to move to EPL newcomers Middlesborough on a €5M transfer. I wish him well and suspect he never regained the explosiveness following his hamstring injury.
