It seems possible that in 5 years Kane might be up for contention. Though perhaps him playing for Spurs might hurt his rating somewhat.

Though I'd love to see him join Madrid.

Aguero is surely good but certainly he is not the best premier league striker *ever*.
Alan Shearer and Thiery Henry can't be forgotten while naming the best premier league strikers.

I think so too but Harry Kane is also good striker. Harry Kane is younger than Sergio Aguero so I think that Kane will achieve better record.

It'll be interesting to see how Kane plays once he's back. He's young and got a great future ahead of him as long as he doesn't let the injury get the better of him

He hasn't been in the Premier League in a while, but I still think Cristiano Ronaldo should have been included. He scored 0.43 goals per Premier League game he played in.

    So, essentially we have

Shearer, Rooney, Henry, Suarez, Aguero, Kane (potentially in the future)

what do you fellows think of the likes of say Keane, Defoe, Yorke, Owens (at their peak)?

Aguero and Henry are my top 2. Shearer is the most prolific scorer by far, but he played a boatload of games, and his goals per minute ratio is farther down the list. Aguero has the best goals per minute ratio, and that makes him the best scorer of all time, IMO. Henry was absolute class.

how did Shearer perform at tournaments? He didn't have a lot of time in European competitions right?

CR is arguably the best Premiership player ever. However, with ManU he was more of an attacking midfielder / winger than an out and out striker. Apples and oranges.

CR scored 84 for Man U, which is fewer than the 86 he scored in his best two consecutive seasons for RM. The best player in league history should have had to play in the league for longer, and I'm talking about any league.

But essentially, players' performances in the CL or EL will find its way to adding or detracting from their "Best" status.
