Lets just hope the new coach is announced soon and is allowed to have a few friendlies before the first qualifying game!

Shayesteh needs to find a team asap. His form wasn't great last year.

Ali Reza said world class coach?

If that is so, then why cant the AFF provide a shortlist of candidates who have applied for the national team job? to give the fans an understanding of the type of coaches for the job..

'world class' might be a big call... world class is Simeone, Pepe G, Jose M, Sir Alex, Roberto Mancini etc etc.. So i doubt it is word class.. might I can only hope..

A much tougher group than I wanted. Obviously the matches against Vietnam will be the most crucial. AFF needs to schedule some friendlies asap. As far as the coach goes, I think we need one who can get the most out of this current group, not necessarily a "wold class" one.

Shaheen Asmayee are facing a Tajik team in the qualifying stages. Personally I think they don't have much of a chance.

It is good atleast they are finally competing in it.

The APL needs to change its format imo, something more year around, it will help a lot for the development of Afghan players.

That requires a lot of financial help and stability in the country.. but this is the first step of exposure to domestic players in Afghanistan.

When will the new coach be announced?
And will AFF announce a plan of attack for the qualifiers in terms of friendlies, camp and player selection policy?

Sharityar signing for Mumbai FC on a 1 year deal.

I actually wouldnt mind Shariyar back into the squad to give the team some experience in a weak defence..

    Other updates in Afghan football:
*Former Cameroon and Tongo coach Otto Pfister seems to be Petr Segrt's most likely successor.
*Nadiem Amiri scores again for Hoffenheim vs 2nd place RassenBallsport Leipzig
*Shaheen to face Tajiki team on Tuesday
*Modjieb Jamali is set to sign with a Montenegrin 1st tier team
*Farshad Noor gets loaned out to 2nd tier SC Cambuur and gets and assist in his 1st game.

    Does Amiri play for NT?

And how on Earth did your FA find Šegrt? I didn't even know he was there, his last job was in Bosnian league where his team got relegated - he even invested some of his money to pay players' wages. Looked like nice guy, but I thought he won't be working in unstable area (by unstable I think of organizational instability) after rough experiences in Bosnia.

Nadiem Amiri is currently apart of the German U21 team.
Petr Segrt is really an amazing human being. Was fully committed to Afghanistan and a great coach, its a shame that he was sacked for the most ridiculous reasons ever but it wasnt really a surprise with the how corrupt the AFF is.

I hated Shariatyar when he was played as a sweeper last time around, plus he really showed his age. I would bring him back only in a sub capacity.

The AFF has to work hard to find some defensive talent in Europe. There just has to be some.

Imo we were drawn the group of death. However top 3 can go anyway, the first game is a MUST win nothing else is acceptable. With that said im actually really liking our chances of qualifying. Kyrgyzstan beat Jordan on aggregate in the last round and Vietnam were ko'd in the semis of the ASEAN cup at home to Indonesia, so imo we are capable of beating both.

That leaves Shirdel as the one major player without a team.

According to Faisal Shahin of Shahin Sport this is due to attitude problems.
