I've got a little bit more optimism for Shandong then Shanghai, remeber the Shandong team is practically the same that competited last time they were in this and while their naivety got the better of them they won't be caught out twice. Yeah they're facing the champions but I can easily see them coming second.

While Shanghai are a better team then two seasons ago when they last competited they've shown that they don't have the bottle when the going gets tough and I can see them getting ripped by Kashima Antlers. This then leaves them having to fight it out with Suwon Bluewings.

wow all these groups look super tough! But now the Chinese teams won't let their guard down and see the true mettle of our teams.

I expect surprises from Shandong to beat Osaka. I expect Shandong to be 1st/2nd, Tianjin 3rd, Shenhua 2nd, Beijing 2nd/3rd.

Though Chinese teams still too fragile mentally at finish line:(!

2nd place finish means @#$%. Either you advance or you've failed.

I actually pay more attention to AFC because there's less likelihood of match fixing.

I think Shanghai's group is easier.

in that case, my bad for not updating myself frequently enough

2nd place was never a problem for CSL teams in the Champion's League. However, it's not a lot harder because we've got a lot more K, J, and A-league teams in the ACL instead of these Thailand and Vietnamese teams. The clashes will be much tougher.

    i am not too sure
    correct me on this

i remember dalian shide play a game against a west asian club
i think it was 2004 and quarterfinal (hao haidong) was in it.
the referee red card the goalkeeper and disallowed a goal or two from china.

was that game match fixing or just referee error?

It was not match fixing and neither was it error. It was the referee's intention to fix teams from China because of bias and, probably, dislike of the country.

Beijing was brilliant in the first 30 min, especially #7 Wang guy on right flank. After that it was some of the worst football i've seen, like back passing, missed passes, bad positioning and tackling. Lost too much possession.

Unlikely to beat Nagoya or Ulsan on this form to second spot...

Shandong could not handle Gamba's trademark fast passing like Arsenal, so they got their asses handed.

Great play by Tianjin, smooth passing, fast skillful footwork. Wang xinxin very active, alert and smart passing. Tommasi yellow carded for tough tackle.

    First half 1-0 to Kawasaki.

similar to changchun yatai in style, offensive, fast and skillful football.
