A kickball player on steroids will likely have a higher kicking average than his drug-free counterpart because the ball will fly farther, and it's tough to catch those red rubber playground balls when they've got some speed.
sure, but that begs the question - is Beau Dure's saber toothed avatar chocolate, or just creamy brown plastic?
Reading this thread, here's what comes to mind: 1. Freddy should not use steroids. However HGH would have been good for him during his early MLS years. I think some of the traditionally shorter countries might have taken advantage of some HGH as I heard that some Korean parents gave it to their kids---I wonder if that has helped their youth teams' average height (which recently has been German-like). 2. Steroids can help you run faster. Ask Ben Johnson. The difference is that roid monsters we pay attention to were focused on strength/bulk. Todd Sauerbraun, punter for the Panthers (former?), was nailed last year for roids...so I think that roids can enhance different aspects of an athlete's performance depending on how they train. 3. Rossi is NOT a Yank! Wait a minute, he IS! But Freddy needs to get out of Benfica now! Wait a minute, he is being groomed! 4. Donovan is faster than Ichiro. 5. Maybe if Bonds played at Coors field his whole career, he would have more HRs....but what if Celtic played full time at Dick's? Would they continue to complain about the ball flying and being too light?
I don't think Ichiro is "placing" the ball anywhere. He doesn't play slow pitch softball. The game is alot harder than that.
Singles hitters have superior bat control. That's why they get better BAs than the swing for the fence guiys.
