He could block the pitch with dead sheep or a tractor. That would get some notice. Actually, he could toss the dead sheep onto the pitch with a tractor. That is sure to rally the crowd.

    Hey folks,

I'm starting to get pinged about the volatile tone the Adu threads are taking. So far, Monaco seems to be a dead end for him and that's frustrating for those of us interested in his career. However, please try to do a little less venting of that frustration in the in-game threads. If you want to call for Ricardo's head on a plate, try doing it in thread about Adu at Monaco in the main forum. Same thing goes for those general statements about his situation.

Also, keep in mind that the frustration you're feeling should not be directed at other posters. If somebody begs to differ with your opinion that [Ricardo is a drooling halfwit / Adu needs to freaking get out of Monaco / Adu needs to suck it up and pay his dues / Adu needs to grow a pornstache] then they're entitled to do so as long as that difference is expressed within the TOS.

    Sincerely,

    Mary Poppins

I remember that that happened to McBride when he was on loan to Everton, and M, who Thank God isn't allowed to post here any more, went on and on and on about how McBride was at fault for the goal.

This whole thread is exactly why I stay out of the Adu threads now. People are just ridiculous about this situation.

While I understand your point, isn't limiting the discussion in game day threads to the actual play of a substitute that doesn't get any playing time pretty pointless?

Yes. And I'm really hesitant to get involved here. Note that I did not say I'd be actively moving stuff to the regular forum. It was just a suggestion that posters do a little self-moderation.

Despite the rationale behind the separation of the main forum and the game day forum I think most people are happier if they've got freedom to talk about stuff that crosses their minds as it crosses their minds. For the most part I think these Adu-Monaco game threads are volatile and unpleasant (to the extent they are) not because people are talking about Ricardo, Benfica, French soccer, etc. but because bad stuff is happening in Freddy-land and it's pissing people off.

Can someone find a link to the "Test" thread. That may have been my favorite

Okay, I've moved about 30 posts from this thread to the main Adu thread, because they moved into a broader discussion that I thought most people would like to continue, and that's a better place to do it.
