Based on what Adu looked like today, and for the USMNT, he should be starting.

So, Monaco beating an even crappier team, means Ricardo is a great coach and Monaco is awesome...but, Adu beating a crappy Guatemala team means Adu sucks because Guatemala are crappy? This is not consistent logic.

With the ironic cherry on top being that Adu looks great when he comes in against Le Mans.

If you had been following Monaco all season you would know that they did have Alonso before today—he played the first 8 or 9 matches and then missed the last few with injury. He is a key player, but they were sucking before he got injured, too. And anyway Adu isn't competing with Alonso. Rationally speaking, he should be, but everyone who has been following Monaco knows that Ricardo considers Adu a striker, not a midfielder.

Determining who is the MOTM is all good, but ratings alone is not be all and end all. At the end of the day anyone who watched a match, preferably on a big screen TV rather than a choppy unreliable internet stream on a small low definition pop up window on a computer, where you cant tell which players are which unless it’s a close up or the commentators names them, can have their preferences on who is the MOMT.

Ratings is a guide, most useful for comparing against extreme views, ie .claims of a player was/is total crap. Also if your own rating differs by a large margin ie you rate someone average but others claim they are fantastic or dismal, it should prompt you to look into a bit further to see why that may be. And of course you may be right all along, but at least you checked it out and probably developed you own knowledge in someway.

He looked pretty good here, he had nice touches, ran at defenders, did some step overs, and almost had an assist with that cross to Park.

I'll work on it when I get a chance.

    For now:

    1. We have a game day forum for a reason folks, please move this argument to the Adu thread in the main forum. The line between what's acceptable for game day and what isn't is admittedly blurry, but the last few pages have crossed it.

    2. The personal attacks are out of line. If you cannot express your point without tossing in an insult about the person you're addressing then maybe you need to take a walk, shovel some snow, drink some sleepy time tea...whatever.
