Benfica takes on Estrela Amadora at home in a midweek BWIN Liga match up. The last time these two met was in the Carlsberg Cup on 9/26 in which Adu played the second half and scored a game tying goal (via penalty) in the 90th minute to send Benfica into the next round of the Cup, after they've won the penalties shoot outs.

    Roster coming soon!!!!

    And here is the roster:

    Keepers: Butt, Quim;
Defenders: Luisão, Léo, Luís Filipe, Nelson, Edcarlos, David Luiz
Midfielders: Katsouranis, Binya, Maxi Pereira, Rui Costa, Nuno Assis, Cristián Rodriguez
Forwards: Nuno Gomes, Di Maria, Adu and Cardozo

I will make a BOLD statement and say ADU will START this match to close out the first half of the season.

Not sure where you reside Smorkarz, but do you know if this match will be shown on maybe ESPND or GolTV?

Just a wild guess. It's the last game before the winter break, and he's been playing well for them so far coming off the bench. Perhaps as a small reward for his work/performance, they might give him the start.

I'd settle for letting him come in at 65 instead of 80...

Agreed. I'd love to see what he can do with more minutes. A start would be great, but even just enough time to settle in and perhaps influence the game over the longer haul would be useful.

Halftime sub. I'd like to see how he does at the end of a full 45-- will give us an idea if he's mentally ready to play full time in Portugal.

hes been doiung great so far ,,ive followed the portuguese leaugue for many years, ,,the mere fact that hes oin the 18 man roster and is being used is amazing,,,,i figure that sooner or later rui costa will come down with some sort of injury, that may be his best chance or if the coach starts using him and cardoso up top/which i think that would be a great opportunity for him to shine at his best,,,on of these senarioos will happen this year

Which is the best t.v. channel to catch the occasional Portuguese match? Would love to see more than highlights. Are the full matches available via youtube?

    Thanks.

not to wish for harm to anyone, especially Rui, but in the back of my mind i've kept thinking WHAT IF Rui went down with an minor injury that would've sidelined him for 4-6 weeks. will Camacho start Adu in place of Rui. will Adu be ready for a full 90min as a playmaker. would he shine or would he crumpled under pressure?

ultimaltey, if Adu keeps improving his game like he's been doing for the past few months, he'll be in the starting 11 sooner rather than later. but as a fan, the one thing that we lack is PATIENT.

To me, he shows sparks every game he enters into. I'd like once in a while to see him be that first sub and get 30+ minutes, instead of DiMaria or someone else. Hard to get into the flow when you only get 10-15 a game.

I've pretty much thought that he'd be better served being the, to use a basketball term, "6th man" coming in as the 61st minute sub. I think a season being that guy would prime him well for being a guy the team could lean on as a starter in the future. My 2 cents anyway.

Amadora getting some crosses through the Benfica box. No danger yet though.

21st minute, great through ball from Katsouranis to Cardozo, great save on the header by the opposing keeper.
