It's tough - I think adidas will have the same effect that Nike had in 2010: all the boots being the same colour makes it look as though everyone's wearing them - I think adidas will be omnipresent. But I do think that Nike will have the lion's share of the conversation; the stuff they've brought to the boot game with the launch of the Magista and Superfly just captures interest more than a stand-out colourway.
Would be perfect if they either made the whole boot black or the whole boot white with those gold stripes. I love how SB is promoting them by saying that each boot is exactly 50% white and 50% black (not including accents).
The pack was basically launched without any hype or pre-marketing. As far as i can tell, the instinct, 11pro and nitrocharge have all been upgraded, with the Instinct being the most interesting of the pack. Compared to Nike's marketing and hype machine with - alleged - game changing products, Adidas is losing terrain. Fast. Dont get me wrong, Adidas portfolio for the WC is pretty solid, but lacks the punch of breakthrough products and endorsements of top players of the World Cup such as Ronaldo, Neymar, Iniesta. I reckon Messi, Suarez and Silva will be Adidas top performers. However, the recent signing of Diego Costa might prove to be valuable. The likes of Müller, Özil, Cavani, Di Maria might also be solid performers.
The boots I'm considering are the Puma evopower 1, Nike hypervenom phantom, 2014, 2014 adidas f50 samba synthetic or 2014 adidas f50 samba leather. Also I wanted to know if buying fg studs or ag studs really matters. I play almost always on artificial grass but finding ag versions for a good price is trickier than fg and im not sure if its even worth it.
Most likely identical to LZ II. I think they look really good.. Not the War pack or whatever it's called, but the Instinct itself. Interesting tech specs. Looking forward to seeing a proper colourway for it.
Does anyone else think that adidas has no faith in the Instinct? Seems a bit strange that they've been unveiled as part of the Battle pack but seem to be going unmentioned in any of their publications. Almost seems as if they are releasing the Instincts for the sake of it.
Running out of ideas and playing catch up, or they have something bigger in the pipeline. I'm worried for them either way.
They want the Predator to have a big focus, so they're waiting until after the World Cup (where it has to be part of a pack and have no identity of it's own) to have a big Predator Party to coincide with the 20th anniversary. Expect a lot of Predator news in the new season!
Just reading up a bit on the Instinct, it looks like they've ditched the miCoach cavity. Apparently the 11pro doesn't have it either (I didn't notice). So I guess it will probably be removed from the rest of the silos when their new versions come out? Can't say I'm surprised.
So sick of "packs." I miss the days when separate boots were doing their own thing. The Instinct should've been unveiled in the classic red/black/white for the World Cup.
To be frank, I can't see myself buying anything other than MTO hg storicas and copa mundials. I'd love to miadidas a predator in black/white/red, but both Nike and Adidas removed the option to select individual sizes for each foot. Is a colorway without volt, orange, or a graphic too much to ask for?
I wonder how long after the World Cup it will be before retailers start slashing prices on the Battle Pack boots... Just can't see them selling well at all.
