I'm responding to someone else's comment. Please feel free to ignore me if you'd like. They have. A lot. I'm not sure how you've missed those conversations; they've been happening for years.
That's what I was thinking too. He looks just as comfortable out there as he did playing against MLS competition.
I'm not even sure your 2nd explanation is worthy of a response. But he showed up best for the youth teams and early with the senior team on the right slipping low crosses in, while he turned the ball over a lot in the middle. Also there was a glut of cm's and dearth of fb's. So that would be Occam's Razor. This wasn't being said about McKennie. If you're looking for discrimination everywhere, you're going to find it.
I am happy that this means (so far … knock on wood) that the manager won't have any issue throwing Tyler out there again, in short order.
He is closing in so quick and crunching tackles. Quick press in opposing half, wins tackle but called for foul. Then few minutes later, a little slow on the ball and gets it taken away.
Two have been positive balls that forced the defense on the back foot. No complaints from me when he's doing that in the attacking third.
I agree. We can't knock players for being constantly negative backpassers while simultaneously complaining that forward passes in the attacking third don't always find their target. That is the nature of the game.
He's been ok, especially in the first 10-15 mins. The last 10 he seemed to get a bit lazy/slow in possession and missed a few passes, one specifically when RB had 4 or 5 people moving forward and he passed centrally instead of up the right wing. Not the best offensively, but certainly a good start to his BL career!
He's doing quite well. We do have decent players both sides of the pond, people need to stop the Euros vs. MLS feud.
Yeah he'll want to sharpen those balls in the final third but only one of them was really poor. One was a misread between him and the runner and one was just a bit heavy to Werner. And only once did he get swiped in the middle of the field, which was the biggest concern for him for me. Still working on that 360 degree awareness in tight spaces. But he's been great overall. 7 or 7.5 performance to me.
You see the positive and negative of Adams' game in the middle. I think he can translate anywhere because he has elite, almost Kante-esque ability to close down defenders and read their moves, as well as provide work-rate, to be a big ball winner for his team. But his passing vision in the center of the park is mediocre. You see he had Sabitzer for example wide open at the corner of the box, and missed him. Good chance that's a goal if he makes a rather straight-forward pass there. But he's forcing passes into the crowd that are being picked off or dribbling for a while and not seeing an option so playing square or back. Yet when he ends up out wide he's efficient because he has evasive moves and he knows where his teammates are going to be generally. He's done his best offensive work out there, again, you'd have to admit.
BS. The bulk of US players hyped on BS - black or white - don't have a great soccer IQ. They're just overhyped.
Watching but for the life of me i cant identify his position. Something like the entire right line????
Fortuna has come out all cannons firing for the second half. Two corners in a row, and they're unlucky to still be in zero.
False comparisons though. I’m calling out his 4 turnovers, has nothing to do with “at least he’s not passing backwards.” We all love Adams.. but we need to both praise his good and call out his bad.
Leipzig controlled the situation. Again a midfield battle, and we know Fortuna is going to lose that one.
