Adams and Brooks both start for their respective teams in the Round of 16 in the DFB-Pokal. Game just kicked off on ESPN3. Also on ESPN Deportes.
9': 1-0 to Leipzig on a goal by Cunha, assisted by Klostermann. Cunha'a first touch came right at the feet of Brooks, who half-heartedly dove into a slide tackle and got nowhere near the ball. Not a great look for JAB there.
Adams has been a little off the last 10min, although Wolfsburg is a little better of a side than the last two games he’s played in.
Took Adams awhile to come into the game and he missed a few passes and had a bad turnover in the first ~20 minutes. Played a bit better but he's looking a little leggy. RB not too bothered by Wolfsburg so far. The finish on the goal was very good but as noted, Brooks gave a half-hearted stab at it and then fell over. He later got a yellow on a similarly half-hearted tackle and couldn't even really complain about it. Has looked like a clear weak link...will honestly need to help offensively to make up for first half defensive lapses to right his wrongs so far.
What Cunha did to him is exactly why I call Brooks the King of Troncos. This man would get destroyed in South America. Hence, we cannot trust him against teams in C-CAF that play the S. American style (ahem... Ticos).
He's gotten worked twice badly in this second half. Watching a Spanish stream and they have not minced words. Called him a liability in defense, offense, on the ball, off the ball. Said his marking, tackling, and positioning well off...yikes. While I don't think he's been abjectly terrible -- had a few decent moments, has been a busy boy -- he's definitely had a sub-par game and Wolfsburg are lucky to only be down 1-0. If they end up losing he can surely put his hand up and claim he could've played better
