Henley is not in the squad today. During the 2013/2014 season he made 13 starts and 1 substitute appearance in the Championship. He picked up 3 yellow cards. He also made 2 starts in the FA Cup.
Blame players for cup exit, says Rovers star Henley 9:09am Thursday 14th August 2014 in Football By Paul Wheelock, Blackburn Rovers reporter ADAM Henley says the Blackburn Rovers players who threw away the club’s 13-match unbeaten run must take the blame for their midweek cup exit – and do their best to put it right at Blackpool on Saturday. A second string Rovers side, including fit-again full back Henley, crashed to a woeful 1-0 home loss to Scunthorpe United in the Capital One Cup on Tuesday.... “We trained with each other and the potential was there to get a good win. “We’re all aware of the run we have had and we didn’t want to be the ones who ended it. So everyone is disappointed and now we have to get back to training and do everything we can to get back to winning ways.” Rovers get the opportunity to do that on Saturday when they make the trip to Lancashire rivals Blackpool. But Henley accepts the majority of the side who took to the field against Scunthorpe are unlikely to retain their places for the Championship clash. He said: “I know a lot of people will be disappointed with themselves. “It was a chance to put your name forward for the first team on Saturday and these are the chances you’ve got to take. “Everyone is disappointed with the result and the performance and we’ll just have to get back into training and go again.” A furious Bowyer let the Rovers players know in no uncertain terms that their display against Scunthorpe was not up to scratch. And after delivering his dressing room dressing down he re-emphasised the need to strengthen his squad. Bowyer said: “It just highlights the need to bring more bodies in. “There’s nothing more on that but we’re working very hard and we’ll keep going.” http://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.u...layers_for_cup_exit__says_Rovers_star_Henley/ There's a pic of him rocking a high top fade, but I couldn't copy it into this post.
Adam Henley, right back (Blackburn) Nationality: Welsh-American Status: Wales youth international, last played for the Under-21s in September 2012; would have to file a one-time switch to play for the US, but is also eligible for England. What's his game? The 20-year-old is a speedy wingback that can play on either side of defense. He has solid all-around skills and fairly big potential. Henley has made 43 appearances for Rovers, seven in the Premier League. Is Jurgen recruiting him? The US boss did speak to Henley a few years back, shortly after taking over from Bob Bradley. For the last couple of years, Henley has kept his options opens while focusing on his development and standing at Blackburn. In fact, he withdrew from a Wales U-21 call-up last month. http://www.mlssoccer.com/news/artic...ng-out-dual-nationals-usmnt-ahead-russia-2018
Started again today in a 3-1 win vs Charlton Athletic. I really hope the Adam is the English dual national JK was talking about keeping tabs on.
Called up to Wales for cap-tying Euro games in March. The possibility of him ever playing for the United States is very close to being finished.
Can't win 'em all. To our fellow BigSoccer poster (and Adam's mother), best of luck to your son in his professional and international career.
