Once Santi started playing in midfield Ramsey has played out wide. While it's true he misses games because of injuries, it's also true that he's played a lot on the right wing because Theo has been injured.

i didn't like it. elneny is too passive/reactive defensively to pair well with xhaka. xhaka is better when allowed to sit deep and direct or deflect which means his partner has to aggressively chase or there is not enough pressing in the middle of the pitch. and elneny is not that guy, he's a read and react guy.

offensively, i think he's the more intelligent/intellectual of the 3 but not as incisive as the other 2.

Ramsey is better than coq and elneney for sure

But football is about the composition of the team over one players ability

    Unless they are frisky elite

I want to like Ramsey but his time is up IMO

He would be perfect at liverpool

Agreed. I think it would be WAY premature to discard Ramsey at this point. Where and how to play him should be a solvable problem. That's something you can control. His form & fitness on the other hand...

It could be related to the fact that Ramsey was more involved in the game in his 25 minutes on the field than Walcott was in his 65 minutes. Aaron had as many shots as Theo, 3 each, but two of Ramsey's shot were on target to none for Theo and Aaron completed 19 of 20 passes, including one key pass, in 25 minutes, while Theo completed 8 of 19 passes in 65 minutes. Needless to say, Theo wasn't very involved yesterday.

Arsenal should try and link those accounts to season ticket holders and if found, revoke the shit out of them.

different kinds of players, and a weak comparison. Coq is a destroyer like a matic or makelele. Just seems he doesn't fit our style.

    No

    U made the weak. Comparison

Makalele and matic play much deeper than coq

Coq is not even the deepest cm in the team

As i said it is about composition and combinations

Coq is similar attributes as a classic destroyer. His distribution is never as good as Ramseys.

He might be able to play as a classic destroyer, but that's not how he plays at Arsenal. He plays higher as a pressing midfielder. His passing has gotten much better too. I'd still take Ramsey over him, but it's not an automatic choice anymore.

I dont anticipate Ramsey sticking around after this season, so we need to a)get a new manager b)go back to 3 CMs because it gets the best out of Xhaka (it suits Ramsey too but Wenger has shredded those hamstrings again). c)buy the midfielders to compliment Xhaka. I dont think its Coquelin, even with that extension he signed.

there are players out there that can counter press but are reliable on the ball.

m8, you watch matches and have no idea where players are being played. Trust me, there is differing opinions and just being flat out wrong. Differing opinions are great. Being flat out wrong is not. You are flat our wrong most of the time, and that just based on facts.

Like you really watch Coquelin play this season and think he is playing as a deep destroyer and have continued to argue that despite everyone watching him as the most advanced CM who is breaking up play near the final 3rd. That is a fact, not an opinion.

    edit:
    this is not differing opinions:
it a flat out wrong statement.

Wenger wants to play Ramsey next to Xhaka, and can't blame Wenger for Ramsey not being healthy - he's played like four times this season.

Edit: I think Wilshere next to Xhaka would be intriguing if Wilshere wasn't so poor in his positioning.

its cumulative. His hamstrings are shot to pieces. He played him the first match when he was not ready and that has derailed his season, so it is Wenger's fault. Its been years of this.

Its not a partnership, Xhaka will be at his absolute best in a 3 man midfield. We been doing it at times with Iwobi, including the Basel match.
