Cruz Azul should beat Queretaro and then face Tigres. If we get past Toluca, we will likely face the Santos/Monterrey winner.
Is Piojo just motivating players or is he legit 13 or bust? I think if America gets wrecked like they did in the last 2 season, he probably should go, but if it's close/unlucky defeat, he should stay.
I generally feel like teams are too quick to fire. We have been good despite not having a forward the last couple seasons. Maybe if we get wrecked I'll feel different but I'd say just get better players.
I don't think it will matter how or by how many, but if we lose tomorrow I think Piojo is out. Either he quits or they fire him but you don't go 11 straight games without losing, have the best offense and second-best defense, just to get knocked out in quarter finals. This coupled with the fact that the team were eliminated in the Copa by Juarez, on penalties, would factor into the decision. we play some good futbol under Piojo, but these problems just don't seem to be getting addressed. I hope he shuts me up tomorrow.
Bruno Valdez, defender, is now our top scorer. The fact that we have the best offense is astonishing. We don’t have an out and out striker to depend on...that should put us at a disadvantage but it doesn’t. Is everyone else really that bad or are we just very good at managing without a 9?
That was fcking nerve racking. But survive and advance. On to los gatitos. If we win and face Cruz Azul in the final, this would have to be the least traveling done by a team in liguilla history.
I mean I guess I'll take it. Ahead going into the second leg with an away goal as well. But damn I don't want to see Roger in the second leg.
Totally winnable game. Definitely disappointed by the result. There is a serious problem in the team with penalties. Ever since that 2016 final pens loss, this team can’t win a shootout to save its life. Roger giving me Narciso Mina flashbacks. F.uck them both.
Roger needs to go. He's simply not good enough for America. Anytime he's near the ball you just know he's gonna ******** it up.
Menez is back in training (see his Instagram posts). Flashed through my mind that he could potentially be used for the final, but I'm not sure how long this sort of injury takes to fully recover from.
Any word on his injury? The way he was grabbing his hamstring it looked like he would be out Sunday. Uribe too obviously.
1073445222254821376 is not a valid tweet id Losing Uribe sucks, but Martinez not playing is good news.
We could do a lot worse than Martin, tbh. Wide goals distribution within the team means losing one or two of our players shouldn't be a death sentence. Caixinha knows he can't play tu por tu against us. Piojo should realize most of our goals came from dead ball situations and instruct everyone to generate corners or direct/indirect free kicks. They defend too well during live play.
