Keeping the thread title as bland and boring as possible, because it's clear that anything else will get it changed and then completely deleted by the looks of it. So we'll try this one more time... At least our women's team gave us something to cheer about, by winning their first game back and dong so against the old enemy down the road. A perfect start.
Was The Other Half deemed derogatory then? I thought the original title was seriously misjudged, and I don’t know why a nod to Teso would ever be a good idea given that his toxicity is the sort of thing usually rubbed onto the tips of blowdarts. But I didn’t expect any problems with the other half - I thought maybe it was some of the comments within the thread instead.
I guess that means it's too late to throw out thread title suggestions... First voting, now this - the United Women's thread
How did the last thread get deleted, only for this thread to be created as Man Utd Ladies Thread, and then the title changes to 'A Waste Of Resources' again? Smh. At the very least, the A Waste Of Resources should be in speech marks. But even then, given what some people then posted, it's probably best to steer clear of irony that can be taken at face value.
Just the 12-0 win over Villa in their opening league game https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/45464817
The Ladies lose for the first time this season. www.bbc.com/sport/football/46500861 Eventhough they are in the 2nd tier, still a very impressive record for them to have remained unbeaten so long, considering they are a first year team. And not only have they did not lose, they pretty much are stomping the oppo pretty decisively. Let's hope it's just a hiccup and they get back to winning ways pronto.
Congrats to United Women for gaining promotion to the top flight in just their first try. Well done Casey Stoney and all the ladies on the team: that was light work. After securing promotion the WSL in midweek, the Ladies have clinched the Championship title today. A great job on their first season back. A big congratulations to @ManUtdWomen who have been crowned champions of the @FAWC_ after a 7-0 win over Crystal Palace! #MUWomen #GGMU pic.twitter.com/x2P15EvA7l— Manchester United (@ManUtd) April 20, 2019
A look at Manchester United Women's first season back and what's next for them. https://www.sport.bt.com/news/the-r...d-women-who-how-and-what-next-S11364356221291 That's one hell of a first year. Looking forward to see what kind of moves they'll be making ahead of next season. Perhaps one of the US national team setup will make the jump? Alex Morgan is a fan unless I'm mistaken.
Congrats on the ladies getting their first W of the season vs Pool, following 2 hard 1-0 defeats vs City and Arsenal. Manchester United have won their first-ever game in the @BarclaysFAWSL.2-0 vs. Liverpool. 👀 pic.twitter.com/a3wSsYdvc5— Squawka (@Squawka) September 28, 2019
Lauren James's goal, which broke the deadlock. Well taken goal: will make for a happy birthday for her (she's turning 18 tomorrow). 💥pic.twitter.com/rr72mMLV2i— Barclays Women's Super League (@BarclaysWSL) September 28, 2019
A great result by the Ladies today btw, as they took care of City in the Manchester derby. Unbelievably proud of how far this group has come in such a short space of time. Trust, belief, togetherness and hard work by everyone paying off in a fantastic performance. Happy weekend @ManUtdWomen fans, thanks for your support as always pic.twitter.com/FuTDaieAVd— Casey Stoney MBE 💙 (@CaseyStoney) October 20, 2019
The women's team keep being a source of pride for United nowadays. Sigsworth just made it 2-0 vs Reading, with the team closing down on another win. After a couple of close losses to start the season against arguably the 2 best teams in the league (City and Arsenal), the Ladies have been on a roll, winning 4 in a row (4th in the table overall). Even more impressive is that it's their 4th clean sheet in the process as well. Remarkable considering we've lost our best defender and team leader in Greenwood. Great job by Casey Stoney.
FT: #MUWomen 4 Brighton 0A double from @leah_galton21 along with a goal each for @laurenjamess22 and @katiezel secure the three points for #MUWomen. pic.twitter.com/uZHcO7HIyl— Manchester United Women (@ManUtdWomen) November 24, 2019 Another win for the Ladies today, as they beat Brighton 4-0. That means that at this stage, except for when they faced the 3 best teams in the league (Arsenal, City and Chelsea), they've won all of their games. And those losses were each by a 1-0 scoreline. Not bad at all, considering it's United's first season in the WSL. Which highlights further how great a job Casey Stoney has done so far.
