545381975436316672 is not a valid tweet id Hard to believe he's still just 21. Hopefully he can see some regular minutes and we'll start to see if he can live up to some of his potential, although I'm skeptical of it. Tigres' manager, Tuca Ferretti, is notorious for not playing young players much. Also reported here.
Terrible move but hey he will be getting paid decently...which is probably the deciding factor on him joining there
Another Salgado profile: http://www.mlssoccer.com/news/artic...ager-fresh-start-tigres-eyes-spot-2016-us-oly Surprised to learn he has an EU passport as well.
Brief summary of the interview. - He wanted to leave Vancouver for awhile, but they weren't willing to let him go. - Didn't feel like he got a "fair shake" to showcase himself, you get the sense he felt ostracized. - Tigres were impressed with his trial, hence why they bought him. - He said that he's more a "future player" for Tigres, aka don't expect him to get a lot of playing time this season. - He's mentally stronger from his experience with Vancouver yada yada yada... - Expects to be part of the 2016 Olympic team.
Is Salgado a player that needs to be coddled? Vaguely remember reports of him feeling ostracized and feeling unaccepted at Chivas.
I remember these reports too. If I recall he didn't like being called gringo too, or something to that effect.
A player with Salgado's size, athleticism, and skill should dominate reserve side games. That is, if he is as as good as some think.
He was benched by Robinson for being angry at being taken out of a game when he thought he was on the verge of scoring.
He's played all of 45 minutes in a Sub20 league loss to Club America (3-0) in the 4th Jornada and hasn't played since. He also has the absurd squad number of 244. That's all the LigaMX website tells me.
