It’s getting worse with each passing game. We aren’t even competitive!

The California Classico is soon going to become totally irrelevant as the Quakes seem content to stand pat with a roster that would probably not dominate at the USL League 1 level. It’s tough to generate enthusiasm for a game at Stanford when it’s almost a forgone conclusion that the result will be an embarrassment for the home team. I’m really starting to have a problem caring, because I don’t know why we should care more than our owner, who is apparently not at all distressed by the lowly performance over the past year...

Yeah, Stanford was less than full last season. At this rate, they won't get ten thousand.

I can't believe Fisher , Fioranelli , Almeyda & Co. are complacent with this team. How can anyone who knows or understands the game , even the most novice fan, not see that we need changes and help now?

That looks like more people than bay area residents who know a team called the San Jose Earthquakes exists.

To be fair, FC Cincinnati belongs in the MLS (as I noted here: https://www.bigsoccer.com/threads/20...season-thread-r.2091864/page-17#post-37523660)., but the San Jose Earthquakes do not.

We would struggle against Indy Eleven, Orange County SC, etc.

Gonna be hard for Alashe to argue with his coach when he leaves the field if he never gets on the field.

Nobody, which is what people don't seem to get. Fisher is not selling the team. If he no longer owns the team, that means the team no longer exists. Maybe that's better. I like to do my fair share of complaining, but at this point, coming around here is basically reading the same post a thousand times, and half of them aren't even rephrased creatively.

Maybe a better question to ask is can we rename our forum to Fisher Sucks instead so people don't accidentally stumble in here under false pretenses.

I know I certainly would. I haven't played soccer in nearly fifteen years. Not sure how recently you've played, though ;).

I thought this was the "Stahre Out" forum?

Winless in nine league games under two different coaches since he was sacked. We can fire the GM and still go 0-34. Ain't nothing gonna change until Fisher stops sucking, as it were.

ExtraTime asks the question which team has the most to worry about this season. You won't believe what the first answer is.

    Warning: depressing

Edit: I've linked to the spot where they ask this question, but it's a few seconds early.
Edit 2: if the link isn't going to the right spot it starts around 32:40

    True. :(

But to be fair, of the three people asked, only the first person answered San José. The second person answered Chicago and the third person answered Philadelphia.

    GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!! :(

That was pretty harsh from Matt Doyle: only Nick Lima would be a starter on half the teams in MLS.
    wow.

Why is it harsh? I think it's an honest assessment. I can't think of anyone else in the current Earthquakes roster who could be a starter in other MLS teams.

    Can't argue with that.
And Lima seems well on his way to NOT being a starter for the Quakes!

I think Doyle’s argument is based on an article they did in the preseason where they picked the top 10 players of each position. The only Quakes player mentioned was Lima and even he was on the bubble.

I think it’s too soon to say if Judson or Espinoza could start for other teams or not.
I think Lopez has potential but it’s clear he’s only barely MLS level at the moment and he didn’t even start for the Quakes in the last game.
Espinoza looked really good in 45 minutes out of the 3 games so far. Hopefully we see more of that.

Well, it was pretty harsh for a media guy, as they normally try to stay on the fence. I can’t recall his saying anything that bad in the 2 years that I’ve been listening to ETR

So why can't the Quakes get their gear into local stores? Why do they have trouble getting their stuff in the airport stores?

    Go Fans!!

Uhh, because no one wants to buy it? Stores want to stock items that sell and have a fast turnaround. Why devote shelf space to items that will just sit there and collect dust? Do you expect them to stock Quakes merchandise because of civic pride?:)

    Not entirely.

Over the years, the Quakes have screwed up merchandising even worse than player acquisition.
