Tottenham coach Pochettino confirms they are in the hunt for Michy Batshuayi. Nice player, I wouldn't mind him at all since he scores and also sets up his teammates well if the Moratas and Auba's are not coming in. Another player worth a look in is Cedric Bakamu of Villareal. Both options could come cheap.
According to @SPORTBILD, Arsenal have offered 30 year old Bayern Munich right back Rafinha a 3 year contract. If confirmed, I guess it will be to replace Debuchy.
I wonder what will the game look like today between Bayern and Athletico? I'd love to see Pep cut down a notch or two.
Ramsey is a decent player and is probably going to end up being a squad player if we get a couple of able bodies in this summer before being sold next year. I really like him as a person and have been firmly in his corner but he is basically Theo as a CMF. Too dumb to be world class.
Regarding Ramsey I wouldn't release him and think he would be a valuable piece to the team. Problem I think with him is that wenger has overcoddled him (like other players) . It seems that wenger always looks to find a spot for him on the pitch. I think lack of competition and perhaps a bit of lack of vision by wenger has stunted him. If he were to put away several good chances this season , I am not certain he would receive as much vitriol as he has; however his lack of positioning and discipline are troublesome.
His Denilson passing isn't great and there's time he could take the ball up the pitch and he does this funny little manoeuvre to turn around and back pass.
Xhaka we know about. Is Kante really that good? We ask a lot more of players in the DM role - have to be able to defend well in space.
Leicester asks Kante to do a lot also but clearly not as much as Arsene. Maybe Arsene should change his tactics, but we know he wont. But honestly, I only linked it because thats not Kante in the picture.
Saw that from another link earlier, had my moment of "Huh?" then realized where they effed up. Sad and hilarious at the same time. Re: Kante - Part of me would feel very weary about taking any Lester players not named Mahrez, if only because I'd be afraid of the player being more a product of a particular system and/or brief moment of success. At least, I don't recall thinking much of Kante before this year and given all the other potential changes likely for the midfield I'm not sure where he'd slot in. Unless, of course, Arsene is indeed starting from near scratch and/or not spending money on anything but the midfield.
We've beaten this horse to death, resurrected it, and beaten it to death again. I don't feel like having this conversation again. Reminds me of this:
http://www.dfb.de/en/news/detail/bvbs-mats-hummels-requests-transfer-to-fc-bayern-144936/ Maybe we can hop on this.
Actually, I would not bet against Kante to make it at AFC or any elite club for that matter. I saw him a few times last year playing in Ligue 1 for Caen. He was impressive but, as I have mentioned at some point here last year, I thought he would be hard for him in the EPL. Boy, did he prove me wrong. The dude is a baller. The way he seamlessly started and played for France last month was indicative of how good he is. He basically pushed out Schneiderlin (an old favorite of mine) out of the line up and the Euros. If he and Xhaka comes, we have a totally different MF. Can't see it happening though.
It's probably a situation where he is going for both but just trying to get one. If both work then he probably will choose his preference.
Hummels to Bayern is a done deal. Bayern more than likely made an approach to Hummels and his agent. Entered into some sort of an agreement. Sneaky bastards.
Everyone does it. Big bank take little bank. At least Bayern does it early enough so that Dortmund can plan for it and look for the smaller club they are about to raid.
