The whole point of Tim Cahill is to increase interest. Crowds are up, TV audiences are up, media exposure is up and so is the next TV deal.

Good things take time and with the CFG, Melbourne City will be a force.

Yup that's what I said. Next season, FFA ought to get another guest marquee player. This season HAL clubs have unsuccessfully tried to bring in Ronaldinho, Michael Essien, Diego Forlan and Miroslav Klose.

They especially need to find a coach better than JVS.

They would. Simply bought an existing team or an expansion slot. As they might do in Australia.

But is he 4 mill at the old age of 37? It's clear he is a polarising figure and not everyone feels the same need to jump between the sheets.

I don't give a toss about how much the FFA get from Cahill. I want the A-League known for it's quality, not the money they pay for passed it hacks. I don't think that if there was a cap he would have been paid so much as it opens clubs to a wider market. Thats just my view on things.

How long are we going to wait for? They have been around for 5 seasons and they have an extra marquee spot.

Scrap the cap and watch the marquee spot be used for proper talent.

No they won't. Not with a salary capped franchise league.

They will go up and down like every team. Because, ya know, the point of competition is to keep things equal and make sure everybody is happy.

So does Buyern Munich, at least they have competition in that area.

If they can figure out how to stop RB, they will also be able to control BM.

The best thing for the development of our game is not to punish clubs for their success. No salary cap and promotion/relegation needs to be the future of our game. We need the clubs with the best resources to be in our top flight.

Bruce has it wrong. Player remuneration has less to do with quality but more to do with their ability to generate revenue.

I thought this was quite an interesting comment to make because I always imagined that the Korean league was better than HAL in terms of quality?
