Is Green better than Ariola? I would say he is but not by much. Ariola may be a bit faster and stronger at both sides of the ball but Green has more moves and is a better finisher.

So maybe an Austrian or Swiss side could have a place for him?

Being transfer listed hasn't kept him from tweeting pictures of himself playing for them. He seems to have a limitless supply of professional photographs. Maybe he has his own publicist.

Zurich! There is something grasshopper-ish about him.

Green has thus far in his pro career largely been miscast as a winger. Julian has shown nothing to suggest he can be a successful winger at the professional level. It's striker (where he has shown glimpses of actual quality in his limited time there) or bust. IMO

That's what I don't get. How has no team other than Bayern given him a shot there?

He has every skill you could ask for, including movement. He may be missing something mentality wise, as much as I think that's oftennover-applied to any struggling player. But if that is or is not it, he's definitely not been put in great positions to succeed with his career choices.

Green looks disinterested. You can't have that.

Dempsey has looked disinterested for the entirety of his career.

Agree that Green is obviously a small forward. However, coaches like to stick the small players on the wing. Hopefully, he finds a club that will play him up top.

For a small forward type like him he has to show a lot before a team is willing to rearrange their formation for him. Chicharito and Dempsey did that and teams have set up their formations with them in mind. I think for Green it will all come down to effort and results. He really needs to start playing all out and start finishing chances.

He may need to drop down a level to get those chances. Canouse is off to a hot start with DC. Lletget did well with Galaxy.

Green should go to Holland or France.

Ideally, he goes somewhere he gets the time needed to refine his game. Could be Holland. Could be France. Could be MLS or B2, which are more realistic.

Italy, where some still believe in small strikers (note to TFC fans, I said small, not miniature)

Stuttgart didn't need him, they have a full set of established strikers and better wingers than he is in that position.

What other options are there within two hours of Miesbach? TSV is 3.Liga now. There's Red Bull, the Austrian champ based in Salzburg. SV Ried & SCRA are two Austrian BuLi clubs that fall into that radius. Zurich & St. Gallen in the Swiss Super League are also there, and the Grasshoppers too --a well-respected club.

In the 2.BuLi he has plenty of choice: Ingolstadt, Regensburg, Nürnberg, Heidenheim, Fürth.

He needs real playing time, a total of 15 non-reserve largely, unsuccessful matches in a professional career at age 22 does not help your development. I am not sure how people can even compare Green to players his own age who get regular playing time (whether in Europe or the U.S.). he may have the talent, but he has not been able to consistently demonstrate it enough at the club level to actually get significant playing time. Let's hope he makes some strides wherever he goes next.

TSV is now Regionalliga Bayern due to owner shenanigans.

Cue a move to TSV 1860 then. RL Bayern is the only level he's proven himself to be effective at.

Got a gut feeling he never gets a sniff of the national team again.
