Stuttgart doesn't seem like a good fit for that though, where even someone like Ginczek has to fight to get some playing time. With Ginczek and Terodde Stuttgart seem to be well equipped for the lone-striker formation.

Green hasn't played a single minute in Stuttgart's last 4 matches, over the summer he has to fight to get back into Wolf's plans, maybe Green's best hope is some kind of formation change

Green has some limitations to his game. I think they are starting to get exposed as he plays with older, stronger, and bigger players.

He needs to learn / be given the chance to master a position.

I think expectations also hurt him. He should have gone on loan to a Bundesliga II team instead of Hamburg and probably been integrated slower to the first team. Another year playing for the second team would not have been bad.

I hope for the best. I also hope he is put in a position and allowed to play there for a long stretch of games. It might help.

Green should move to Excelsior Rotterdam.

Btw. congrats to Feye, a bit early, perhaps, but I do not think championship will escape this time. You guys have been waiting far too long.

Green has been subbed on in the 82nd minute today, as Stuttgart hold a comfortable 3-0 lead over Aue today.

That's how it ended. Stuttgart has a 6 pt lead over the 3rd place team, but they have a game in hand tomorrow.

With a win or draw tomorrow it looks like Stuttgart can secure promotion back to the BL next season. Match vs Hannover will be televised live on FoxSoccer2Go at 9:30AM EST

Julien Green subbed in at the 77 minute taking the place of Klein.
It's his 10 cap of the season.

Stuttgart lose 1-0 to Hannover. A draw or better would have secured promotion, but Stuttgart is still in an excellent spot since Arminia Bielefeld incinerated Braunschweig today 6-0. Stuttgart will be promoted next week unless there's an unlikely combination of a Braunschweig win, a Stuttgart loss, and a massive swing in goal differential.

if they win their last game next week they will win the 2nd division for sure. A loss or draw and a win for Hannover and that team wins 1st place. The only thing separating the 2 sides are goal differentials, which Stuttgart is ahead.

Stuttgart was basically his Monaco stop, right? So something on par with Belenenses should be next.

I hope for his sake he does, 20 minutes played in the last 7 games. Not great.
And one cant help but wonder since Stuttgart got relegated last season that they wont want this to happen again. Usually the promoted teams like everyone else reinforce their squad before the new season.

so will Green who seems to get the cold shoulder, get an even bigger ignore with the increase in competition.

Is it simply that JK overrated him? Is he decent quality but takes time to adapt? I mean surely he must be something to have caught on at Munich and years there (albeit riding the bench for the first team).

I'm not sure about that, Green only played 2 games with CA and scored 1 goal while playing the CF position. Isn't his proper position a Left Wing? So even CA played him out of position.

at Stuttgart he's been playing mostly Left Wing yet hasn't impressed.

I think it's a bit telling that so many coaches never bothered with him or relegate him.
Pep, CA, when he was at Hamburg there was what 3-4 different coaches in that season and now Stuttgart....

I'm still rooting for him to succeed but it will be very hard for him to so. It's a shame that he'll already be 22 next season. Seems like he spent 4 years not really doing much.

He is good, but one-dimensional. Green needs to either develop a better work rate or to create opportunities for teammates, though it's understandable if he stint at Bayern has left him in a shoot-first-and-second mentality.

Green is an Italian style 2nd striker, imo. Ancelotti probably has an eye for that but the bundesliga is a league for workhorse all arounders, something Green is not.
