More on point for Furth, they're one win off a potential tie for sixth (goal differential does not favor them, though).
Second to last place has average 1.2 ppg. Second place has averaged just under 1.7, and most of the league is right around 1.4 It's crazy tight. Not even FDuss is over 2ppg.
Second leagues are where the fun is these days.
It's also a sign that the third to last club actually will be a prohibitive favorite against the third representative. Just about every club in the second is a couple lucky deflections away from the top spots, and a couple unlucky bounces away from the bottom spots

Switched to a 4-1-4-1. Julian now playing at CM. Just got clobbered with a deliberate head butt while holding up a ball to chest.

Looks like another formation change with Julian up top for 10 minutes in a 4-3-3 before taken off at 76'. Julian did a lot of running and chasing but did not get on the ball much.

Good experience grinding away but Julian is really wasted in these grit-ball matches.

Looked a little down when he came off but the coach seemed very positive.

0-0 at the FT. A point for SGF - and they sit in 9th, although a win by any of the teams from 10-16 would see them jump SGF.
This weekend is the weekend of the bottom-duels, it looks like. Furth tied #8 Sandhusen, to keep them both 1 pt apart.
    Meanwhile:
#10 Duisberg plays #12 Union, so a tie there leaps both over Furth due to Union's GD. Obviously, a win by either leaps just them over.
#11 St. Pauli plays #15Erzgie, Pauli will jump with a win or a tie, Erzgie needs a win, so any result in this is same for SGF standing.
#13 Eintrach play #14 Dynamo. A tie moves both of them over SGF. Obviously a win for either moves just them above SGF.
#16 Heindheim has #2 Nunberg. They need to win by 2+ to jump SGF's GD.

So, worst case Duisberg ties Union, St. Pauli wins, Eintracht and Dynamo tie, Heindhiem wins by 2+. That would, believe it or not, drop Furth to #15 and Erzgie drops to #16!! ( I think... wow)

Luckily for Furth #17 and 18 can't catch them this weekend. (they play #3 and #5 respectively and are too far back on pts for a win to help).

SGF likely to end up between 10-13 I'd guess by Sunday night

It's so tight we won't know who will be relegated and who will be promoted, for sure, until May. All we know is that at worst Dusseldorf will be a Top 3.

Furth got perhaps the best slate of results for them Duis and Union tied 0-0 so they both jump SGF, but Union only on GD and Duis by 1 pt. Erzgie beat St. P so they jump to 8th pushing Sand to 9, Duis 10, Union 11.

So SGF end up 12 and 3 points and GD clear of #16. Need to keep getting points and they'll be ok.

Forgot Entracht and Dynamo yet to play as well. One, or perhaps both, will jump SGF tomorrow. So SGF will end up 13th or potentially 14th... Still better than 17th, but it remains very nervy down there.

So, of course, Eintracht and Dynamo tied! So SGF is down to 14th - tied on points with: Union, Eintract, Dynamo and St. Pauli! Ahead of only St. Pauli on GD.

    B2 is so tight 3 points between 6 and 15!! 4 points between 4 and 15.... Insane.

Yes. With 5 matches/15 points left, Furth is 7 points above the auto-relegation spot and 9 points below the promotion playoff spot.

    #14 Furth(37 points) have fixtures H v #5 (41 points), H v #7 (40), A v #15 (37), H v #10 (38), A v #16(34). If they continue their run of form they have a shot at the promotion playoff position.

To think that when Julian joined they were in last place with 0 points after 4 BL2 matches and looked like the early favorite to be relegated.

And 2 of last 3 games are v. "long shot" relegation candidates as well. Gonna be a rip-roaring end of the B2. Wish I had more regular access.

Twitter says he starts tomorrow v. Regens.

BTW, is 99.9% of B2 pregame just betting shills? It's weird. I don't even think the Brits huck their own league as much. click on any pregame link and it's some horribly typed/machine translated preview by someone else and then betting odds.

I went over to Transfermarkt and read the german fans posts. They would like to keep him but fear he is too ambitious to stay even if would be good for him....

It's a horrible league to bet on. It's pretty much dead even, meaning it's almost every match is a coin flip.
Huh. Actually, that might be a hell of a lot more accurate than my normal betting approach.

A couple of years ago, I did a TippKick B2 fantasy game with a few footy friends. It was simple, you just had to pick the final score of each game. After a couple of seasons of putting a lot of thought into it and doing pretty well, I switched in the third season to picking about 75% of the games as 1-1. I won the league that year.

Playing a CAM in a 4-2-3-1. Seems to be much better as a distributor with several nice forward passes and field switches.

36: Julian gets a YC for lowering his shoulder and leveling a defender on a 50/50 aerial challenge. A year ago JG37 would have been taken off with an injured shoulder. Also tried an audacious bicycle on a driven cross earlier!

40: Great run and touch on a over the top pass (similar to WC2014 goal). Defender recovers to block left foot strike for a corner.

45: receives ball in opponents end and starts a hard dribble drive. Gets fouled and knocked down at least 2-3 times before final foul is called. I guess Ref was playing the advantage. Green is much stronger against physical play than last year.

0:0 HT. Unfortunately will miss the 2nd half.

Julian has been the best Furth attacker with 4 dribbles, 3 aerial wins and 2 tackles.

The German-American has scored to break the 0-0 deadlock

Unfortunately for Julian, it was Jann George with the goal for Jahn Regensburg
