OptaJoe @OptaJoe 1m1 minute ago 3 - Own goals (3) are now Chelsea's top scorer in the Premier League this season (Costa and Willian have two each). Aid. Kinda sad.
Villa have been nervy in defence but we've really done little to put pressure on them. Constant little mistakes in the transition from midfield to attack.
who is this dipshit commentator on the usa broadcast? they're usually bad, but this guy is exceptionally bad.
Is it me or is this Chelsea team just not likable as the ones in the past...Pedro, Fabregas, Costa...
I can think of about fifteen teams that would have given us more of a game today, but two goals and a clean sheet, i'll take it. GOOD: Terry, Azpi, Willian (MotM), Costa (a bit of a punk in the second half, but great to see him NOT spike the ball, LOL). BAD: Pedro, Fabregas & Zouma (all still looking well below they're best), Ruben only getting 45 mins despite looking decent (injury?)
Well 3 points and a clean sheet - which is good. I think that we won't get relegated this season. That is about the best thing I can say at this point. Villa are very poor. One shot on goal from Villa. btw - Fabregas would be great in a beach 5-a-side team. In the real world he is a passenger. Loose balls, caught in possession and he cannot tackle. No wonder Pedro and Fabregas were allowed to leave Barcelona. They are just not quite good enough. Still. 3 points and a clean sheet. Onwards. Rahman? Thoughts. He was fast. But he didn't look great. Early days I guess. But we need some fast quality defenders. . .because apart from Dave we don't have any.
That match was representative of two clubs struggling in the bottom half of the league. MOTM was the final whistle. Garbage in garbage out.
"They did amazing defensive work - the allow midfield to be comfortable and to have performances like Ramires and Fabregas controlling centre of the pitch so it was just a tactical decision. Leaving super quality on bench but bringing tactical discipline and hoping that the team would be solid." -Jose Mourinho I am not seeing this "tactical discipline" that Fabregas is allegedly exuding - what I am seeing is a player missing out in most 50-50 challenges, I am seeing a player who frequently gets caught in possession, I am seeing a player who makes some real sloppy passes and a player who never seems able to make a respectable tackle or challenge. Seems to me that Fabregas just seems to want more time on the ball and the opposition is sensibly not allowing him to have that.
