If the players want to keep Jose, they will need to step up. They also do not have the excuse of Ivan this time.

Well. Well Aston Villa have been a bit of a bogey team for us in recent years. . .but does that still count now that the whole league is a bit of a bogey league? :(

The whole league has gotten better since Jose's first tenure. But even though we didn't strengthen during the summer, that's no excuse for the form we're in now. We have the talent. It's down to them to perform.

Jose says Costa found the reason for our bad results and provided a solution.

.....I'm more scared then ever now.

Joses press conference, he said something along the lines of. "The players played the same for their national team as the have for us" This tells me that Jose is finally realising that there are certain players just playing poorly at the moment and he decides to change it up a bit and field the players who are playing well, r a least not playing so poorly.

I would like to see us play:
    Begovic
    Dave, Cahill, Terry, Baba
    RLC, Ramires,
    Pedro, Willian, Hazard
    Costa.

Jose may surprise us even more then what I would like to see as in the press conference he mentioned Zouma and Dave as Right Back options but he also mentioned Ola Aina.

He also mentioned Ramires! What is this, the US National team? Can we call 2003 Paolo Ferreira up somehow?

Yeah he did mention Ramires, that is concerning but then again I am surprised he didn't mention Carvalho he was doing some Chelsea TV stuff recently

    Maybe a change in formation?

I would say a 3 man defense but we dont have the players for that

As far as turnarounds go, I think we have had two. Both of them 180 degrees......

What about a 3-5-2 when everyone is fit?

    -------Willian------Hazard-----------
    ---------------Oscar-------------------
    --------Matic--------Ramiras---------
    ---Ivanovic-------------Azpilicueta---
    ---Terry-------Cahill--------Zouma---
    ---------------Courtois-----------------

Ram in the pivot always makes me nervous but I am glad Baba gets the start as well as RLC. Still edgy as hell though

seems like a 4-4-2 to me with Willian and Ramires playing wide to help out the full backs.

    • 01 Begovic

    • 28 Azpilicueta
    • 26 Terry
    • 05 Zouma
    • 06 Baba

    • 07 Ramires
    • 36 Loftus-Cheek
    • 22 Willian
    • 04 Fàbregas

    • 17 Pedro
    • 19 Diego Costa
Oscar and Hazard on the bench - they will see some time at some point and Falcao nowhere near the team which is good :)

Happy to see RLC & Baba, less happy to see Cesc, interesting to not see Hazard.

RLC is fast. Especially for such a tall frame.
