As far as I know, tickets go to members of clubs, so you basically have to know someone. I went to see the All-Blacks game in November, but only because one of the guys I went with plays with a club.
I MIGHT be too, only at Lansdowne, problem is, we dont have tickets (and from what I can tell, they are not cheap or easy to find)...if you are in Wales, I suggest taking the ferry over to Ireland. It is cheap, only take 2 hours, no one gets sea sick, and they show a movie. (Actually, if you are for Wales, I wouldnt suggest that, stay in Wales and support them form there). Wish I was going to be there for Wednesday but Ill take what I can get.
Great win for Ireland over Wales today. We were shaky in the opening 20 minutes, but after that utterly dominated.
It was a good match, especially good because I was there . Even better because I got in free . They played well until they scored then Ireland took over and never faltered. My favorite part was how no one liked the singer (Brian Kennedy I think) and when he came out to sing Fields of Athenry had half-time and tried to get the crowd to sing along, he go nothing.
Here are two versions of Ireland's Call http://s61.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=3TNZFO7D0EM7U04SD21ITFNJH7
Ireland 15-9 Scotland. If my mental math is correct, we want England to win tomorrow. That way if we beat them at Twickenham next week, we are guarenteed the championship. If France win, we can beat England but we'll still, in all likelyhood, finish second to the French.
Well, France beat England, and by a fairly wide margin. This more or less destroys our chance of winning the Championship - unless Wales can upset France next Saturday.
Still have great memories from two years ago, hopefully Ireland can do the business again at Twickenham on Saturday. I plan on being at the pub for this one...
Oh wow, what a match! Ireland wound up winning 28-24 after dominating the first half and disappointingly only went in 3 points up. With 2 minutes left in the game, we were down by 3 after England had a good resurgence, when all ofa sudden O'Gara provided a hopeful deep kick, and O'Driscoll got onto it, setting up Horgan who got knocked into touch. We managed to get possession back, and Horgan scored a FANTASTIC touchline try (which went down to a video judge's decision) to win it with just over a minute left, and O'Gara then made a near-impossible (considering the wind) conversion. England were threatening at the very end, but we held on and managed to kill the ball. Winning the Triple Crown (which now has it's own phyiscal trophy) in Twickenham = .
********ing brilliant. Im still on a high an hour later- if only I could go drinking tonite........... What a game. Frist half we were super, for much of second half we were lucky to stay in it- and had a bit of luck in being awarded first try- but what a finish. Winston Churchill, Maggie Thatcher, Queen Elizabeth, Clive Woodward etc... your boys took one hell of a beating!!!!
On a semi-related note, I just saw that the Irish Rugby team is on the cover of EA Sports' Rugby 2006 video game. http://www.easports.com/rugby06/index.jsp
