Brazil has done enough.. they just need to not concede.

The USA needs 2 more and to not concede any. This would level the USA at 3pts, they would be even on GD, but win the 2nd tie breaker with italy in terms of goals scored (italy only got the 3 against us, we would have 4).

Yeah, I thought Clint has had a pretty poor tournament so far, but I thought he's been very, very good today. Some of his passes have been outstanding, and incredibly threatening.

Ive been very impressed by Donovan this half, hes the standout by far.. a bit unlucky with the finishes

I think this has been a good performance so far, but it doesn't matter if scoring chances aren't completed. We need more goals.

Italy does not perform well in this tournament so far...USA scores first vs Italy, they lost to Egypt and now trailing 3-0 behind Brazil...

Give Dempsey and Coach's Son a rest for once. Let's see the proven combo of Clark and Feilhaber at work again, and maybe give Adu or Torres a little playing time.

So if the results stand:

Brazil, 9 Pts., +7, IN
Egypt, 3 Pts., -1, IN
Italy, 3 Pts., -2, OUT
US, 3 Pts., -4, OUT

If Brazil-Italy stays 3-0 and US wins 2-0, Egypt still goes on goals scored.

If " " US wins 3-0, US goes through on head to head with Egypt.

Okay, now I've caught on with the rules here.

I'm betting that Egypt comes out intent on closing down the space on the left that we are creating and the chances are fewer than in the first half.

Dempsey has been ok, IMO. Altidore has been worse, and should be subbed.

Yes, if Italy get one back vs. Brazil, then they could be in trouble. They are on a knife's edge.

We, however, need 2 goals. Attack!!!!!

1: Get Dempsey off (Adu or Torres).
2: Get a CAM on the field: pick one of Benny/Adu/Torres
3: If we still need one late, pull Bornstein and put in whomever is left of the above three, or Casey.

3-0 and USA is past Egypt on GD, through with Italy on Goals Scored.

Yes, no matter how many goals Brazil scores on Italy, the US needs a minimum of 3 goals to beat Egypt's goal difference.
