The 40 man roster will need to be submitted in a few weeks (April 29th) according to this article.

    Key dates:
April 29: 40 man preliminary roster
    May 15ish: Pre Copa Training
May 20: Final 23 man roster
May 22: Us v Puerto Rico (rumor)
    May 25: US v Ecuador
    May 28: US v Bolivia

The linked article speculates that Miazga and Morris will not make the 23 for the Copa, but they should be in the 40 man preliminary.

You moved your post here... I my aswell move my response too.

I think a lot of the notables you left off JK will included in the 40 and most likely include in his 23 too. Guys like Beckerman, Jones, Mix and Zusi will all be in the 40.

Edit: The guys I see that might make the 40 that are not included in your list are Evans, Williams, Bedoya and Morales.

You are probably right, I just think there are certain players that the NT has to phase out. These are players that should've been phased out after the WC, and now its almost two years later. Its time to try some new players.

I don't mind Nagbe being in the 40. He just shouldn't be in the 23 unless he's 100%.

I see most of the usual suspects. The guys I think you might have forgotten would be Flores, Rubin, Palmer-Brown, Redding or Moreno.

Not surprised you'd make up insulting nicknames for players you don't like. Even less surprising that you would continue to not rate Hyndman. Both of these say a lot about this list.

    here
    What I would do:

    ----------------------Demps
    Johnson----------------------------Jozy
    ------------------Nguyen
    -----------Bradley----------Cam
    Ream----Besler-------Brooks-----DY
    ------------------Keeper

    F: Wood Wondo
    O/A M: Puli Bedoya

    CM: Zusi Kitchen
    CB: Gonzo, Birny
    FG: Shea, Lichaj

    Close calls -

Nagbe for either Zusi or Wondo
Becks for Kitchen (But, Kitchen was fantastic vs. Celtic - who, as has been pointed out has a massive payroll. As I said, I think Kitchen is kind of Holden lite).

I think we're ready for this set up:

    ---------Jozy/Deuce--------
    --Pulisic-----------Wood---
    ------Bradley--Bedoya/Nagbe
    Johnson--Cameron--Yedlin
    ---------Besler--Brooks------
    --------------Guzan-----------

Dwyer's not yet eligible, but he should be eligible in early 2017.

It's not that I didn't rate Hyndman, but I just felt my 40 was the strongest. For me, I thought about Rubin, Flores and Brooks as well-- A lot of players
I see. I knew he had his green card since 2012, so I thought he was currently eligible. But with that, I would know swap his place on the 40 with Rubin.

I was talking about a specific post. Your 40 looks pretty reasonable and understand preferences for different players... Id probably question Arriola and Keisswetter and would probably go with Rubin, if healthy which seems to be getting there, and even Rodriguez over these guys.

    I'm curious... Why Flores?

It could be a preliminary 400 and Feilhaber still wouldn't be on it.

Come on, Benny would make a prelim 400. He was only voted by MLS players as the 10th most over rated player not the most over rated!

Well, as you know, Flores didn't make my 40 and that's pretty obvious. I just have a liking to North American based players is all.

Interesting call between Cropper and Horvath. Neither should see the field that much, so it's more educational for them. I suspect Cody might get the call over Nick (even though Nick's the better player right now) because Norway will be in season this summer while Cody will be in pre-season. Also, Cody might be looking for a new job as MK Dons look sure to be relegated.

Cropper's 23 and is a back up for a side that is at best MLS level. He's also looked shaky at times for USYNT's. I don't see why he's ahead of any number of back up keepers his age like Kempin, Horton, Worra, Miller, etc.

Horvath is actually a very good prospect who's now been a starter for nearly a year at the club level, has Europa League experience, and has done well for USYNT's. Its really not a question who to pick.

Maybe he doesn't pick either for Copa America, but Horvath should be ahead of the pack of recent YNT keepers in terms of a NT call up.

I struggled getting to 40 and really caring. It was even harder getting down to 23. Outside back and defensive midfielder are the two week spot and may end up having to drop Johnson back or push Cameron out there or into the midfield. I've added as many youngsters as I could don't expect many of them to get that many minutes. Parker, Williams, Finlay, and Zardes would be the next guys in line in case of injury or other reason to hold a guy out. Morris will probably be better served continuing to settle in at Seattle.

GK (3/4): Howard, Guzan, Horvath, Doesn't matter

CD (4/8): Besler, Brooks, Cameron, Miazga, Parker, Birnbaum, Gonzalez, Ream

WD (3/5): Yedlin (+2 of next 3), Payne, Shea, Villafana, Evans

CM (6/10): Bradley, Nagbe, Jones, Nguyen, Hyndman, Lletget, Williams, Kitchen, Trapp, Acosta

AW(4/7): Johnson, Bedoya, Pulisic, Rubin, Finlay, Zusi, Arriola,

FW (3/6): Dempsey, Altidore, Wood, Zardes, Wondolowski, Morris,
