A Canadian with the great name Olivier Occean scored the second goal for Offenbach. 2-0.

Former Connecticut Wolves player - Olivier Occean. I heard his name, and there he was celebrating his goal.

It will take a while for me to get a feel for how good everybody is, but I wouldn't have anything against Offenbach and Sandhausen going up.

That's funny, those are the two I'm pulling for going up as well.

    How weird is that?

Eintracht and Offenbach. Dresden was dominated today. Although it's a bit worrying that the game wasn't won by at least three goals.

For Sandhausen it remains to be seen if they get a working team. Burghausen isn't really a measuring stone.

I only saw the last 20 minutes of the EB- Dresden game today, but it looked like Dresden could move the ball well till it was time for the final pass. Neither team looked good to me, but maybe those first 70 were different.

I think I'm not known as someone who tends to overrate his team, but this was, in the context of a 3rd division game, damn fine play from Eintracht. In the last 20 minutes Dresden had already brought in new strikers and Eintracht was relying on counter attacks (there still were some nice ones, though). But especially in the first half that was very good work - Eintracht was playing fast and showed some nice passing, also good corners for a change. Dresden scored out of nowhere, but otherwise never looked threatening (and that's a team that's likely to finish in the upper half of the table, mind you). Eintracht also should have gotten a penalty, and in addition hit the post twice in the first half. Really, the only major weakness is that they still need way too many chances.

As I said, I only saw the last 20 minutes. Dresden only had a 1/3 of a chance on that ball that skimmed through to the back post, but it was handled easily by the right back.

The best chance to score was EB's counter-attack, where the guy with the Italian name could have slotted it to the FW coming up on the left side. Wish I had woken up earlier to watch the rest of the game.

    how was Sandhausen's game?

    Re: 3. Liga 2010/2011 [R]

There was also the almost chance from Kumbela shortly before he came out - the defender reached the ball before him, but with some luck this would have been very dangerous.

And the guy with the Italian name is actually Italian, born in Bari.

You can watch the entire game here: http://www.ndr.de/flash/mediathek/mediathek.html?broadcastid=38&itemid=sportclub1294 although it will only be up for a week, probably.

    Haven't seen the Sandhausen game.

Be still my beating heart... Regensburg starts out the term with a victory.

I still have a wealth of concerns and am not sure Jahn can push to compete for promotion, but there are some very solid pieces in place, I think, to be a consistent side this term.

Let's just hope consistent does not equal consistently in bad form.

I fear you are the only one who even mentions Regensburg and promotion in the same breath ;). If they come in around 10th, this season should be considered a sucess for them.

I can only hope. But I still think they finish top half of the table. Beside, they now have Schweini!

Well, let me phrase it this was... he ain't his brother. He's decent enough, but he's not a key player.

No, he certainly is not. But some added quality never hurt... especially when considering what Regensburg had over the past few years, with the exception of Sattlemaier and a few others.

Braunschweig with a huge win away, Offenbach beats Sandhausen away, Regensburg with another win.

So who has the top attendance?

With regard to Regensburg - Do not discount the addition of Michi Hoffmann. That veteran presence in goal may be just enough to help improve the goal differential and, in the end, sneak Jahn up the table.

Offenbach and "Billy" Occean continue to roll, with Braunschweig keeping pace.

The better source, as long as it is for statistics, is kicker, though. As much as kicker sucks these days, they actually correct mistakes and always have the official stats. Weltfussball has many small mistakes (the attendance for Braunschweig is wrong, for example, the average should be 18100, not 17100).

Well... 4 matches, 4 wins, 4 clean sheets for Regensburg. A great start to the term.

    Re: 3. Liga 2010/2011 [R]

Yeah, good start for them, congrats. So far they have played 4 relegation candidates, but 4 wins in a row is good no matter the opposition. Their next five games will be brutal - if they are still on top after the 9th matchday they can make a good run this year.

Eintracht game postponed because of rain...

Sheesh...so many 3.Liga games rescheduled due to winter weather, now due to rain as well? I am pulling for Eintracht for sure, a former BL champ with that kind of support deserves to be closer to the top flight.
