That jersey design does awkwardly push the entire wordmark down a bit lower than it should be. But as for the sponsor itself: like you said, I'll take it! GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!! -G
GS any info regarding terms of the deal? How big of a company is Intermedia in terms of yearly revenue, net worth? Nothing in Wikipedia but their website does state they're out of Sunnyvale. Perhaps move the wordmark up across the divide between blue/black? Probably would look better with a solid color kit.
Since we haven't seen the 2020 kits yet, I'll reserve my aesthetic comments for later, but I'm happy that at least we aren't the only MLS team without a jersey sponsor now.
Aren't the home 2020 kits going to be the same? I think it was the road whites that would be up for the refresh since they came out the year before.
Got to talk to Dangerfield & Ramiro. Spoke Italian and Spanish with Fioranelli , Almeyda. Salinas and Lima don’t really speak.
So glad to get a local high tech sponsor. The graphics and fonts may be clean but also may be a little generic. Even the Sutter Health logo and word mark seem a bit more interesting in comparison. This is screen capture from the company's website. The logo is originally in 4 colors. We have made it just white on our home jersey. It makes it kind of look like a progress bar when something is loading but only half way. I hope it doesn't become a symbol of our season. Also, wonder how the away jersey will look like. Is it going to be single color as well?
Outsider here, but yeah, great logo. But it would be much better to see the rainbow on the white jersey. Hoping it happens. Congrats on a local sponsor. Sutter is Sac area, IIRC.
https://www.owler.com/company/intermedia#top I am not in high tech or the business world. Don't know how good owler.com is. Here is some info from a cursory search on Google. If it was publicly traded, it may not make the small cap market
"NEWS: San Jose Earthquakes Score Big with Intermedia Cloud Communications Partnership" (SJEarthquakes.com - Wednesday, 1/22/20) GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!! -G
Just my opinion, but on second look, I think the wordmark placement is alright. Nice balance between our crest, Addidas insignia and Intermedia wordmark; all cleanly separated by our blue/black border. Again, just my opinion.
Well, the entire Sunnyvale office of the new shirt sponsor is attending opening day. And, per @falvo, he's the only soccer fan in the entire company. So, I would say, yeah, you're right.
I looked at the Intermedia website. They are owned by a private equity firm and only have a 1M+ users, which seems kind of low for a cloud company, I wonder if the Quakes are really just trading the jersey sponsorship for IT services.
Well the only MLS and/ or Quakes fan. There are a few Euro Barca snobs but they have no clue about the Quakes. I did introduce one of them from Spain to Almeyda who also played in Sevilla.
They need more name recognition and thought this would be a good way to make a splash. Also, if some of their 1M+ users are big firms ... then they are doing alright. $250M a year mean they are probably doing alright. Go Quakes!! Fisher OUT!! - Mark
$250 million in annual revenue. I guess they really do want to push their brand, since that is not a lot of revenue compared to many jersey sponsors.( Sutter had gross revenue of $12.6 billion in 2018.)
Away jersey update for #Quakes74: The reveal date is in the first week of February as part of an event for most MLS teams. Today's @intermedia_net sponsorship extends to the away jerseys, of course.— JMoore Quakes (@JmooreQuakes) January 23, 2020 There are some league restrictions with respect to sponsorship colors for the new jerseys. Expect a single or dual color sponsor in most situations unless otherwise negotiated with the league. Some existing sponsors carrying over to this season will require changes.— JMoore Quakes (@JmooreQuakes) January 23, 2020
