I'm not comfortable with depth or the starting 11.

Have you had Malört? Of course, your hand shakes.

Just the thought of causes the shakes for many people.

It does not specifically say that the "handshake" was with another person!

I only watched the first minute, but those are depressing highlights.
    The crowds are minuscule.
I guess he would have been comfortable at Toyota Park last year.

People only see the premier league and Bundesliga on TV and forget how much of European football looks like that.

Oh, I know. I was being sarcastic, of course.

I have professional games in Ireland, England (Premier, Championship, the old Third Division, non-league), Poland, Czech Republic, Holland, etc.

Oh, the DT's. Yeah, I hadn't thought that the FO would reference so many of us when rolling out a new DP. ;)

Color me less then impressed so far. Downgrade from Nikolic. Need Pizarro for certain.

this is such a poor take. He’s a better player then nikolic. Nikolic spent the majority of his career playing in Hungary. Beric would have lit that league up.

Also, love Niko, but the fact that he hasn’t been rumored elsewhere may be telling

I am an unabashed Nikolic fan, but I am super hopeful that you are incorrect.

    We will see.

watching that Malort video, Beric looks like he's about a quarter of a second away from cracking up right as the video cuts off. I can almost picture the Fire media guy telling him "sorry, you messed up the shot, we have to have you take another one".

    Agreed.
Let's see what happens and if they will dash our enthusiasm again or will Pizarro or another good player follow.

Well I'm glad he seems quite a bit more than a warm body so major props for the Malort action and yes...a #10 CAM should be next.

If we play 4-3-3 then we don't need a 10. Get a 6, let Djordje and Medran play the double 8. Keep that third DP spot available for the summer.

If they're confident that better players will be available in the summer (and who would be willing to come), than the scraps available now, 100% yes. I'd rather wait for an impact guy than get a marginal player now.

Seems like you'd have an easier time finding an impact player when you're not trying to get him mid-season.

I rather leave it open and see what this team is lacking come mid-season. If there's no strong need for any position, then you let Djordje go to Europe and sign a DP level #8.

    WIN NAO!!!!

That’s the problem. People have lost patience AND Joe wants to make a splash and sell out the opener.

The truth is Nelson is out of the technical side and Paunovic is gone. It’s a new 2-3 year plan.

From what I'm understanding, Joe is not going to meddle and force Pizarro onto Heitz, so unless Heitz and Wicky suddenly have a change of heart on Pizarro, I do not see him coming here. Frankly, I think I would have allowed for one signing of that type, but I see both sides and won't complain either way. I don't know really anything about Pizarro but if we're going to play 4-3-3 or any formation without a 10 and Pizarro can't play the 8, then it makes sense.

For the money it would take to land Pizarro we should be looking elsewhere guy disappears to much during matches. I agree with keeping the 3rd dp spot open for the summer window.

Pizarro has been used as a winger in a 4-3-3.

Nickels is right though that he does disappear some games. He rarely has a solid outing. He is either sublime or completely ineffective.

That said, he would likely dominate MLS defenses as he has consistently in CCL play.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't more players available in the summer transfer window than the winter window? WRT optimal for the Fire: yeah, no-brainer, winter window.
