Some questions: • When will Namli and Benezet actually arrive in training camp? • Same question for the Rapids that are with the various US nationals teams.
Well that would depend on how quickly they get their visas / ITC, etc. The visa, if you pay for “premium processing” will get a response within 15 days of the original request, and the ITC takes up to 30 days. Usually the ITC doesn’t take the full 30 however If it does take the maximum time, Namli; who was signed later, could arrive (if my math is correct) as late as February 14th. So, given the history of how quick those things process it should be on the sooner side of things, but if not, he would still have 2 weeks with the team. Well, for the US players at least, the USMNT January camp runs until the 25th. After that, they have a friendly against Costa Rica on the 1st. So, if they get called in for the Costa Rica game, they could miss more time, but still report to camp by the morning of the 2nd. That would give them 27 days (gotta love leap years!) before the first game to get re-acclimated to the club. Theoretically that should be plenty of time.
You don't have to have your ITC to be in camp, only to play in an official competitive game. They can even play in preseason games without it. I'm not sure you have to have your visa in hand either, possibly just in process, though I'm less clear about that.
Fair enough, I did not know that! I was just going off of what the articles on both signings said - claiming that they would join the team “pending their P-1 Visa and receipt of their ITC” - and then doing worst case scenarios based on that
Pretty sure you have to have that VISA to enter the country (processed in) or your just a visitor and unable to work/ play. Not sure if they have to hand over passport to embassy to get the P-1 Visa, meaning they have no passport until this is completed.
We look a little short in Midfield on this roster (missing Galvan) but I think a fair piece on the team otherwise. One Big Question: Can Distressed Assets SC be a winning proposition in 2020? https://www.mlssoccer.com/post/2020/big-question-col Colorado basically put a pause on their mostly disastrous overseas shopping predilection (of their big winter of 2017/18 spend, only Jack Price has worked out) and decided to see if they could find value within the league. The fact that they played at a 60-point pace and guys like Mezquida, Lewis and especially Abubakar showed out for the vast majority of last year says they could. But now there are expectations, and there's more depth and competition, and there's no guarantee that some of the magic that propelled this team last year has been bottled (no way they score that many set-piece goals again, for one). And they're in a league matching up against teams with $30 million transfer budgets.
That's what wingers are, Forwards Or should I say, wingers are on the forward line on the field, instead of over center of the pitch forwards..

https://www.racingclub.com.ar/en/futbol/cuarta-division/jugador/688_lopez/ Looks like we have this Kid on trial. We have another called Andres Alarcon from Argentinos Juniors
Couldn't find too much about Alarcon online. We also have a draft pick from last year back on trial with us. Hauser-Ramsey
Seeing as he's the only unsigned GK in camp, I expect him to be signed as our 3rd GK on an HG deal. Keep your eye on Alarcon as well, this isn't the first I've heard about him from the Rapids. They like the look of him.
And I assume Rodriguez would be loaned to the Switchbacks if this happens. He's still very young for a keeper. This would of course force the Rapids to find another international slot. Wonder how well he speaks English? Was told last year by Fran Taylor that it was important for defenders to all speak English.
I don't think Int'l slots are hard to gather, just wait to right before roster compliance deadline and I'm sure several will be available.
I am always amazed at some of the ages invited to camp. Hard to imagine a 15 year old in the same camp as a 30 year old. Love it for future development, just is an interesting thing....
