In terms of being surprised by the scores, I'm not. Togo & Niger only play in this tournament. Senegal's always been an average team in CAF. Burkina Faso just started playing a few years ago. It was expected to be Nigeria, Ghana, Mali & Ivory Coast in the semis.
Oh yeah, the gap in the WAFU is fairly small-fry. We often get mismatches in these tournaments - it's just part of the sport at the moment. They swapped the day 3 kickoff times - so the CIV played their game in the evening.
