Foster made team of the week for last weeks performance where he had an assist and goal.

    https://www.houstondynamo.com/post/2019/04/23/rgv-fc-midfielder-maalique-foster-named-usl-team-week

Very good game with the 5-2 hammering of the Lights. They had two fluky goals, one a PK off a non-threatening cross that hit a defender's hand and another a really lucky deflection by Salazar off a defender and into goal.

Foster really had a commanding performance this game. Small also made his first appearance in some time and scored a goal along with an assist on Foster's goal.

Enriquez had an assist and Isidro Martinez scored a goal from a great assist from Foster.

Nelson had a pretty good game as well notching 6 saves. The two goals came mostly off of Sergio Mena who had a rough debut. He was subbed in for Samuels at right-back to defend a corner kick his mark scored on, and then he and Small missed their mark on a second headed goal.

Enriquez-Small-Foster were a very effective attack this game.

Isidro Martinez, Foster and Enriquez have put in consistently good minutes this year.

I watched the first half of RGV vs LA II last night

RGV was outplayed pretty badly and losing 1-0 at half time. I had to go to bed so I did not see the second half. Check the score today and see that it finished up 4-4!

RGV even had the lead going into extra time

The Cabrera brothers played in the first half and look to be physically undersized / less athletic against the more mature physical players. Salazar and Martinez came in for them second half.

Hat trick by Micheal Salazar including one in extra time for the lead. Carlos Small (still on loan from Aribe Unido Panama) scored the third LA II scored the tying goal at 96 minutes.

All RGV goals came within the 77'-91'.

it was terrible. 2nd division soccer at its worst. you know something is wrong when the final score looks more like a hockey game.

Watched the entire game on my Espn phone app last night - RGV played pretty smart and technical enough to get out of the high pressing Timbers2 put on.

They played a lot like the senior team - not so great holding the ball but good at the counter.

Garcia played CB and helped strengthen there. Deric had a good stop to help out.

Good road win as T2 is on top of the table right now.

Side note - Todd Wharton (who used to be captain of RGV) came off the bench for T2 late in the game...

Chuey Enriquez Carlos Small Malique Foster all had good moments

Cabrera’s son had a garbage goal on a deflected CK ball in the 6 yd box 1st half. T2 scores off a CK then Carlos Small had the game winner after poking home a blocked shot near the goal line.

    Stat leaders now:

    Michael Salazar - 5 goals, 9 appearances

Maalique Foster - 3 goals, 3 assists in 9 appearances

Isidro Martinez - 1 goal, 3 assists in 11 appearances, leads team in chances created

    GAA by keeper:

    Nelson - 2.33
    Deric - 1.75
    Corti - 1.67

Maalique Foster is the standout player on the roster and has looked really good in USL. Potentially there as an Elis replacement. He's fast, but I don't think he has quite the same speed as Elis and he's half a foot shorter at 5'6". Maybe has better passing/vision than Elis, but that's really hard to tell without seeing him play MLS competition.

Salazar is knocking in goals now and is scoring at a clip of just under a goal per 90'. Would be nice to have as some depth behind Manotas who looks to be feeling the minutes lately and with Pena apparently injured.

Defense is just a complete garbage fire back there.

For those keeping track, academy/homegrown player minutes (out of 990 minutes available)

    1.) Nico Lemoine - 192 minutes
    2.) Kevin Rodriguez - 169 minutes
    3.) Eric McCue - 94 minutes
    4.) Zach Jackson - 90 minutes
    5.) Carlos Viveros - 0 minutes
    6.) Osmar Chavero - 0 minutes
    7.) Isaac Acevedo - 0 minutes
    8.) Brandon Morales - 0 minutes

I've heard Wilmer Jr. referred to as a Dynamo Academy player and he has 620 minutes, but I don't think he ever actually played with the academy outside of the U-23s aka Brazos Valley Cavalry.

    Dynamo Draft Players:

    1.) Andrew Samuels - 605 minutes
    2.) Sam Junqua - 451 minutes
    2.) Brad Dunwell - 251 minutes

Dunwell is either injured at this point or they've cut bait. Hasn't made an appearance since March 23rd.

This Salazar guy has caught fire in front of net recently. Stats I saw say he has 7 goals on the season already.
