Steelers, Bengals same difference. Years ago, Cincinnati was a soccer hating town and Martino's was a soccer hating business. This is going back quite some time but a group of us went there to watch a game and we were thrown out with some colorful language. Last time I went there. It's amusing when a place like that does a 180. Of course they're not the only ones. Sports radio was brutal to the game and I wonder if the bars or radio hosts call soccer supporters communists or f-gs these days. Probably not.
I remember when Billy Cunningham at WLW totally hated soccer as a communist game! Now since United Dairy Farmers owner has fcc Cunningham has done a complete turnaround!
Still has a long way to go. I was in the airport in Detroit just a couple years back, landed just in time to catch some MLS matches. They have three sports bars. Maybe just two. Either way, I visited them all and each time when I asked about putting on an MLS game I received blank stares. So disappointing, but not unexpected.
It was a bit different here, mostly because Bob Connors liked the game--pre-Crew. He was the "morning monarch" on WTVN and would have the Xoggz guys on regularly. That helped.
If he don’t want it I’m sure one of my other sons will use it. I only have two tickets so I’m taking the son who still plays soccer
This is a long shot but I thought I would put it out there. Any Cleveland area folks wavering on going down for the game tomorrow night? I have one extra ticket and one extra seat in my car. No cost, just asking for you to be respectful, timely and no puking in the vehicle.
