Pepi score on the counter. Waited out the defense and finished well across the keeper.

Pepi gets the ball maybe 10 feet in front of the 18 dead center, with two defenders in front of him dribble into the box, carve some space, and gets a nice goal low to the corner.

And Brazil answers. Las passes to his CB under pressure from a Brazilian attacker, ball trickles just past him.

Nice job playing out the back there. 1-1, a gift of a goal to Brazil. Bad pass by Las, bad touch by whoever received it on the 6 yd box. Real weird strategy here.

I don’t think it was a bad pass by Las. The pass was accurate, Saldana wilted under pressure and tried kicking it right back to him, which ended up wide of him and into the goal. Bad decision by Las to play it to Saldana, but Saldana made a very weak play. If that was Leyva, he would’ve turned out of pressure.

He had been struggling for a few months until last week. If he has, it’s been more recently.

Yeah I think Las has looked good playing it out of the back, it's the back four that have made things looked shaky.

Scally’s been the best American player so far. Shutting down Talles Magno.

If it was a bad decision to play it to Saldana, wasn't it a bad pass?

If you're talking about whether it was to his feet, ok, but seemed an odd strategy to pass it 15 ft from your goal with a defender on the kid's back. Not sure what the idea was there.

The way the announcer pronounces Griffin Yow sounds like he's saying Gryffindor

I think we agree, but are using different terms. Speaking just about the accuracy of the pass, it was accurate to his feet. I don’t know why he’s playing that to Saldana though. I agree about that. Maybe you try that with a different teammate, but not Saldana.

Am I right to assume this Brazil squad is one of the favorites, especially playing at home? They seem a bit more comfortable on the ball than the US, but they sit WAYYYY back when on D and the US has looked dangerous the last few minutes.

Bello down after a collision trying to win a header. They are rubbing his hip/side.

We are getting very little from the wings right now. Yow has been slightly better than Jasson. Jasson has barely gotten any touches.

Both teams look out of sync, but the good news is it’s 1-1 and we are playing them even so far.

    Bello v one footed.

I've seen much worse trotted out at LB for a USMNT youth team though.

I love Kobe. Kid just emanates confidence. So refreshing to have a passer like that on the back line.
