Good points. I've just been talking with other fans about ways to give the event more appeal. Just wanted to hear more thoughts.

The Crew won the USOC in 2002, defeating the Galaxy a week after the Gals had won MLS cup. It was a cold night in Columbus and LA didn't seem especially motivated. They later said they had a hangover from winning MLS cup. Not literally a headache but an emotional letdown.

I haven't eaten from Popeyes, but they're advertising a lot. They have biscuits, which I like.

His source was ESPN, so it's not really what ESPN meant.

The NFL does something similar with the Pro Bowl between the Conference Championships and Super Bowl, and players on the Super Bowl teams don't want to get hurt in the Pro Bowl. You'd have some of that if the U.S. Open Cup Final was a week before MLS Cup and a club was in both.

Toronto only made 1 PK? Ouch!
    That is some epic failure.

    They're 7 for 14 in their last 3 shootouts.

23 days ago, Burundi was eliminated from World Cup qualifying after two 1-1 draws and losing PKs 3-0 in Tanzania.
